“Wonderfully rustic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

If you are looking for a quaint, rustic hideout then Beck Hall is your place. Malham is a wonderful old village set in the heart of the Dales with lovely walking all around. And staying at The Beck makes it all the more special. There is a great sense of homeliness which is helps put one in the right mood to enjoy your time away. Being able to relax in front of a log fire in the rustic and rustically charming lounge after a day on the fells is real luxury. A lovely place with lovely staff and service and and accommodation and excellent breakfasts.
Would definitely recommend and stay again, soon we hope.

“Second lovely vist”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We came to Beck Hall at the end of November for the second visit this year looking for a peaceful relaxing stay and we were not disappointed. The room was spacious and comfortable the breakfast filling. If you want a relaxed atmosphere with the friendliest of staff visit Beck Hall. It was just the break we needed to see us through winter, but we will probably feel the urge to visit again in the new year

“Great Place shame about the weather”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We were looking for a pet friendly B&B in the Dales and found it pretty tough to get anywhere. Beck Hall were very good on this score and even offered to let us have breakfast in the lounge if we wanted the dog with us. Also the charge for sharing the room with our pooch (excellent Lower Riverside) was optional whereas some places charge a small fortune. The position is stunning but be careful returning from the pub in the dark (Lister Arms the better of the two) as the there is a torrent running under the rickety rackety bridge. I don't agree that the breakfasts were 'to die for' but if you ate too many it would certainly hasten your demise. Also fire in the lounge should have been lit before breakfast but this is a minor quibble.

Room Tip: Book well ahead and insist on ground floor if you have dogs

“A Lovely Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Having just returned from a two night break at Beck Hall would like to say what an "enchanting " place this is. We were made to feel very welcome by Alice and her team, nothing was too much trouble. The room (upper riverside) was lovely and cosy with a fabulous bed which was extreamly comfy and the home cooked breakfasts were to die for.
Thanks again Meryl and Mike from Liverpool.

“Warm and welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

A lovely quaint, rustic, country house style B&B. This is no boutique hotel but it is a charming, comfortable place for a most relaxing stay. Very friendly and helpfuil staff. A lovely room (Room 6 was ours), a great welcome for dogs, a most hearty breakfast and even a sausage for Archie at breakfast in the lounge. A nice honesty bar with a good selection of drinks. The access bridge is a no-go area for disabled but provides an exciting arrival in the darkness! Overall, a thoroughly enoyable and comfortable palce to stay. The local Lister Arms (250 metres down the road) has great evening meals and splendid Nutty Brown Thwaites beer!

Room Tip: Can re4commend Room 6 - a good sized room with a smallish 4 poster plus an extra single. External fi...
