Well located for the Pennine Way. Friendly and welcoming with lovely cosy bar. Bedroom was on the small side but beautifully warm so that we were able to dry out our wet clothes from a day walking. Offers fantastic views over the snowy dales. Good parking and easy access to many walks. Unfortunately the local National Park Centre was closed for January so we were unable to purchase a local map. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice including porridge. Dinner was prompt and beautifully cooked on our first night (a Thursday) but on a busier Friday night was not quite as good with a long wait for service so that we ended up forgoing dessert. Would recommend especially midweek.
