I wasn't going to write any review because didn't know where to start, but I just came back from there 3 days ago and I feel with the responsability of warning people. DON'T GO TO THIS HOTEL!. I was 3 days in Hesperia Playa El Agua with my husband and the hotel lost power every single day, the first day was at night for 2 hours and the next day, was the same for 5 hours. We couldn't go back to sleep until 1 AM because there was not AC, our room got mosquitos everywhere because we had to open the door to get air. The hotel just have generators for the recreational areas and in Margarita Island there is not enough energy to supply the hotels. The bar gives you the worst rum and the restaurant offers you the worst fish, which is unbelievable considering that we were in MARGARITA ISLAND. Even the milk they offer for the famous "cafe con leche" was disgusting. The shows are lame and beach services are gone after 5 PM. It was not always like that, actually 5 years ago was a REALLY 4-stars hotel and that's why we decided to go again, looks like Hesperia hasn't renovated ANYTHING since 5 years ago, everything is outdated, faded and about to break, not even the grass is green...

Its a long wait to check in. The staff were very cold, felt as if we were bothering them. Our room was very clean just a bit musky, the food was tasteless and basically the same thing everyday. Enjoyed the pool wit the bar. The cafe close the the beach was the best service and food. My biggest problem is the jewelry store run by a lady. On the first day we saw two rings i fell in love with, it was claimed that they were genuine silver, pearls and crystals. My boyfriend the next day surprised me with one of the rings which he bought the second day . By that afternoon one of the pearls fell out it was repaired the next day for us i didn't wear it until the forth day, at the airport another pearl fell out. At home i carried it to be fixed only to be informed by my jeweler that its not real silver it cannot be fixed and it was flaking. That was total robbery because it was an expensive ring. I enjoyed my stay but may not return because of this incident because i'm very upset with this lady dishonestly and the cold service, we are paying you not begging for lodging.

We were at this hotel for one week. We arrived late to check in and of the three premium rooms booked we only got one and two bungalo rooms. We were supposed to get the correct rooms the next morning. The bungalo rooms were terrible!! They were dirty and in dire need of repairs. The faucets and shower were rusted out and it was full of cobwebs and dirt on the ceilings and a/c. The rooms smelled like mildew and the furniture was from the early 80's. We didn't get the premium rooms until two days later. They have terrible customer service and made us feel like we were bothering them. The premium rooms are much better but they are poorly maintained. The whole resort is in dire need of repairs. The food is inedible!! The food was cold, even when they put it out fresh. The dining rooms were extremly hot since there is no a/c and the mosquitos and flys were plentiful. The location to the beach though is great! If you are just looking for a good beach location and don't care about the hotel and food then this place is a good option. I will definitely not be going back.

Before I visited in May2011, I reviewed the reviews which general shouted to me "dont come" , but i wanted my own experience of it.
The place is generally somewhat clean, the customer service relations with the employees there are excellent and well accommodating, despite the fact that I can not speak a word of Spanish.
After taking into consideration that the hotel is a three and half start and not a five star i can conclude:
The pools and rooms are nice.
The food is terrible.....as they do not add salt of any additional flavor to the food when cooking.
The employee are always willing to assist with anything and everything.
The activities are pretty much cool and culture full.
In all, i got exactly what I had payed for!
