“Great hosts; great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We only had one night to spend in the area, but couldn't have picked a better spot. David and Lizzie were wonderful hosts and made our visit memorable. Road noise was the only (minor) detriment to a wonderful room and very comfortable facilities. Location was fantastic for visiting all the surrounding attractions, and our hosts went out of their way to help plan and offer valuable advice. Room rate was reasonable for a family of 4 (L140/quad) and food was fantastic. Highly recommended for family travel.

“New Forest Relaxation for Family of Five”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Our family of five (parents with children ages 5,7, and 8) stayed at the Newton Farmhouse for three nights in August on our first leg of a two week England adventure as we wished to visit the New Forest, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Old Sarum. We chose the Newton Farmhouse because it had received excellent reviews on trip advisor and presented elements that our children would enjoy: farm animals, a swimming pool and trampoline. Our stay at the Newton Farmhouse was the highlight of our England vacation, and our children will tell you their favorite part of the entire trip was the Newton Farmhouse. Prior to arriving in England, Lizzie and David were responsive and helpful as we booked our stay from America. Upon arrival, they were extremely helpful when we were completely jet-lagged. For example, when we missed breakfast on two mornings, they brought a modified version to us and we enjoyed their delicious breakfast on the patio. Lizzie and David were so warm with our children and allowed our children to collect eggs and help with the animals. David and Lizzie provided excellent and accurate advice on pubs for dinner, horseback riding trips, and hiking in the area. In fact, one of the hikes David sent us to was one of Jason and my favorite days of our entire vacation. The location of the Newton Farmhouse allowed us to easily visit the beautiful New Forest, Stonehenge, and Salisbury. Lizzie and David's warm hospitality and helpful advice was unmatched on our travels.

“Very nice stay in a great location.”

Just returned from a two night break at the Newton Farmhouse with my husband and brother. The reason I picked this B&B was because we were looking to visit the New Forest and this B&B had such good reviews. The location was better than expected as it's also very close to Salisbury which was a very nice town with lots to see and do. The communication with Lizzie was excellent even before we had arrived which was nice. The welcome was very warm, Lizzie and David explained everything about the house and gave us some tips on walks in the area and restaurants to vsit etc. We had a very nice meal in Salisbury to a steakhouse that David recommended on the first night. Breakfast at the house was excellent, nice honey and mustard glazed sausages, lovely bacon and scrambled eggs :) Also, you have to try the cakes, yummie. We did some lovely walks in the area also because David gave us some good tips on where to go in the New Forest, therefore I feel we saw the highlights in a short time. You can easily stay a week here as there is plenty to see, I feel that we stayed a bit to short as didn't realise beforehand that the area was so interesting. So, to sum it up, great B&B with welcoming hosts, excellent breakfast, very nice rooms and grounds are beautiful too. Location is excellent for Salisbury, Stonehenge and New Forest. I highly recommend this place, we had a lovely time.

“Friendly, relaxing and really helpful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

An ideal base for seeing the New Forest, Salisbury, Winchester, etc. We needed somewhere really quiet and relaxing, and we weren't let down! We stayed in the Trafalgar room; it's a bit pricey, but you do get a lot of room for your money! We had everything we could have expected and more. Breakfast was superb (esp those sausages!) and they coped well with my wife's anti-Candida diet. David and Lizzie were really friendly, and David's advice on where to go, which roads to avoid, etc, was really thorough and extremely useful.

“Perfect getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Booked the farmhouse because of the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. Lizzie and David are fabulous hosts. David will ensure you make the most of the surrounding area with tips on the best routes. Lizzie makes sure you are well fed to start your day off with an fantastic breakfast selection. The brownies are to die for!! (Thanks for e-mailing me the recipe Lizzie) We had a four night stay for my partners 40th and the day was made perfect with a meal at Les Mirabelles in nearby Nomansland which was recommended by our hosts. Superb!!! We would not hesitate to recommend staying here and as a couple that never returns to the same place, we will even think about a summer stay to make use of the outdoor pool!

Room Tip: The garden suite has it's own small sitting room and outside terrace area but choose an indoor r...
