What a great experience. My wife and I just spent a week there, and enjoyed every minute. We were upgraded to an ocean view room (#466) which was fantastic and offered the most privacy of all the rooms. The staff was very pleasant, especially the woman who manages the restaurant during breakfast. The continental breakfast included with the room was more than enough, very fresh fruit, and delightful pastries. Orient Beach was beautiful, and on the north end where the Esmeralda is, was never very crouded. The bar/restaurant at the beach, COCO Beach has fantastic food, and very polite and pleasant staff. With the room, you receive two chairs on the beach at COCO, and the beach boys make sure you never go without.

If you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing vacation with some great food, go to Esmeralda. We are already planning our return trip in June

This was our 3rd time at Esmeralda. The previous one was in 2008. After reading 2010-2011 reviews I was ready to see my favourite hotel, outdated and worn......and what a surprise, we came to a completely renovated facility, painted inside out, equipped with new lighting, air-conditioning, kitchenettes, and more.....
The breakfast was very french (toast and butter/jam) the rest you had to pay for. But nothing is cheap on St. Martin..... Loved my 4 nights on Orient Bay.

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at the Esmeralda Resort. We stayed in a deluxe king bedded room in a 4 unit villa.The room was very large and very clean.Individual terrace and small pool( shared by the 4 units) right outside our sliding doors.The room was quiet, the bed extremely comfortable and the flat screen TV got lots of stations 'tho we paid $10 a day for a DVD player.The reasonable price included a continental breakfast w/ fruit and bread basket-delicious croissants-at the resort's L'Astrolabe restaurant-also good for dinner. Best of all,anywhere in the resort is a 2 minute walk from Orient Beach and specifically the Coco Beach Club where room rate includes daily "2 chairs and umbrella".Because this club doesn't deal w/cruise ships it's low key and not too crowded.We had lunch there most days( pizza, salads and rose) in between long beach walks and staring at the gorgeous water.

Esmeralda is just gorgeous! Peaceful and very relaxing. Villas are painted with beautiful colors and updates are just awesome. Beautiful accommodations. The staff are absolutely amazing!!!! Everyone was so so friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and the grounds and pools are spectacular. Breakfast was delicious, as were our dinners There are 2 restaurants on the property . Coco Beach (casual dining) with excellent choices . Great food. L'Astrolabe restaurant was 5 star dining plus!!!!! Just magnificent.
This is the BEST Resort. Can't wait to return.
