“Charming place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We arrived at 21.45 on the off chance that there was a room available, luckily for us there was. We had the 'Annex' as the other rooms were booked. This is a small apartment attached to the main building consisting of a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. There is also a kitchen, although this was not available for our use the two nights we were there. We didn't mind as we had a kettle, etc, in the bedroom and had only wanted one room anyway. Maggie let us have the apartment for a very reasonable price as it was so late when we arrived and so we ended up staying another night. The grounds were beautiful, totally unexpected, with a lake in the middle and a few tables and chairs dotted about. The choice of Breakfast was very good - with cereal, fruit salad, porridge, full English, etc., cooked to perfection. If we are ever in the area again we shall definitely stay here, as we loved it. Last, but not least, Maggie was a very charming host.

“Really great B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We liked the room , the historic cottage and the old mill workings. Our hosts were friendly and thoughtful and we had a terrific in-house dinner and wine to finish up our vacation. We wished we had stayed longer.

“Perfect historic property, near Sailsbury & Stonehenge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2011

My husband and I have been guests at Salisbury Old Mill House twice, and we very happy with the quiet, county ambience and fine service. Our rooms were spotless, with very comfortable beds and a nice attention to detail in everything. Breakfasts were elegantly served, and Maggie, our hostess, cooked them beautifully. Though near a road, the inn is very quiet. I especially liked the interesting garden, beautiful millpond, and gorgeous climbing roses that decorated a wooden barn supported by saddle stones. A huge amount of work must have gone into the renovation and upkeep of this beautiful antique property. This inn is very near to Salisbury, and Stonehenge and Avebury are just a short, scenic drive away, We will definitely make this our home base when we travel to England again.

Room Tip: The top-floor room has a cozy beamed ceiling.

“Quirky, charming and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

We had a wonderful time staying with Maggie and her family.
Our room had a stunning view over the millpond and was very comfortable.
The rest of the Mill and garden were full of character - the origial wooden Mill workings can still be seen.
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners in the dining room. Maggie is a very good cook and the relaxed evening atmosphere was helped along by a lovely bottle of wine. We will definitely return when next in the area.
