In 2008 we walked the C2C ans we slept 1 night in Cambridge House, in Reeth. This year we're back, because it was a very good address to come back to.
We've travelled a lot in the UK and we think, this is a special place:
very warm welcom, every day a selfbaked cake or tart, super breakfast and lovely surroundings,

We have stayed here some years ago but returned whilst on the C2C route, everything was as fantastic as we had remembered. Lovely conservatory pot of tea, cake and a friendly chat. I could use the washing machine (much needed) and dry all the clothes in the excellent drying room, we stayed in the same bedroom as before with a great en suite with bath. Poached eggs on hot crumpets was a welcome change to cooked breakfast after so many days on the C2C - we will return

“hikers,bikers,cyclists perfect place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We stayed here on monday 12th sept having walked from Aysgarth as part of the Herriot way on the day we had the tail end of a hurricane so it was heavenly arriving here as we were made very welcome by Sandra who led us to the toasty warm drying room where we were able to leave all our soggy kit and after showing us to our room invited us to the conservatory for tea and cake, the other much appreciated thing was a bath in our en suite, nothing like a hot soak after a day like that We had a lovely view from our room and enjoyed seeing all the birds on the numerous feeders in the garden. Its a very short walk down to Reeth where there are tearooms and pubs a plenty,we went for a meal in the evening at one of the pubs.Breakfast was a very sociable affair sharing a large table with fellow hikers and attended to by Les who could talk the hind legs off a donkey but I don't mean that in a bad way,he was such an interesting person and full of fun, what a livewire! We really enjoyed our visit and would fully recommend it if you want somewhere special to stay, thankyou Les and Sandra

“Lucky me”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

I arrived for 2 days of cycling with no accommodation booked and never visited the area before. The National Park Centre in Reeth phoned first B&B for me and it was Cambridge House, where there was a single room vacant. As I was unloading, Les introduced himself, pointing out the cyclist weather vane atop of his Aladdin's cave of a garage full of cycling paraphenalia. He gave loads of advice on routes etc, and, as I staggered back from the tough climb up Butter Tubs, he passed me on his daily 60 miler with a cheery shout and a thumbs up.

The guest house is great: spacious, comfortable, modern facilities. A proper solid old stone house. Breakfast by Sandra is a treat with a proper menu, not just Full English, home made jams round a big old table. Les likes to tell a tale or two with a great Yorkshire straight face, calls a spade a spade.

Better than most hotels I've stayed in.

Cheers.
