We decided to stay at Maltby (so named after one of the RAF pilots assigned to bombing Dams in Nazi Germany), after reading the elated reviews here on Tripadvisor.
We were not dispappointed. What you get here is a personalized and hearty welcome, cosy and comfortable spotlessly clean rooms (we had booked the two of them, but Barbara, our hostess, will accomodate only one party -four people maximum- at a time anyway). Bathroom was small, but neat and tidy and, of course, extremely clean.
House rules may seem a bit stricter than in other B&B (rooms have to be vacated at 11:00 AM every day) and breakfast a bit early for people vacationing ( 8:00, but negotiable to 8:30).
Hostess Barbara Poyser is a vey nice and accomodating Lady, and her breakfast is one of the best! Tasty, abundant and healthy!
One of the reveiwers mentionned a steep staircase to get to the rooms. Really I see this staircase as easily manageable for all except those afflicted with serious mobilty issues. The house is situated in the small village of Breakish, and easy to find from the main road ( there's an easy 1/4 mile straight gravel road leading to the house;
Views are astonishing from the rooms and the Isle of Skye was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. The scenery there is just always breathtaking, no matter where you find yourself on the Island.
