Upon arrival at Shivas Village Hotel at approx 12.10am, the hotel reception was in darkness and the 24 hours reception was closed. Our taxi driver went to the village and got a number and at 1.30am one of the girls who run the hotel arrived to book us in, so this was not a good start to the holiday. The hotel advertises an onsite restaurant, sauna, mini market, gym, tennis court etc. The only thing which the hotel did have was the swimming pool but the pool bar was not opened at all during our 2 week stay, so you were unable to buy anything to eat or drink at the hotel. It should also be made clear that the village of Sivas is not somewhere you should stay if you do not have transport, as you are not within walking distance to anywhere, and the bus comes occasionally every 2-3 hours, but stops about 2km outside the town. Although the town is very nice with a few tavernas and 2 small shops, it would have been nice to be able to get around more without having to rely on taxis, which can be quite expensive, as Sivas only has one taxi driver from the village, and most taxis have to come from Mires, which is the next town and they charge you the cost of them coming from Mires to Shivas and then the actual journey you wish to make. On the plus side the rooms were large and bright and cleaned daily.
