My fiance & I took a whirlwind tour of Spain this month, and spent two nights here. We were really excited about the hotel and even upgraded to the Tempranillo suite, a big splurge for us. However, despite this being our most expensive hotel of the trip, it was our worst experience.
First the good points: The suite was beautifully furnished & had a killer view over wine country. There was a complimentary half bottle of wine that we were grateful for. Our room was very clean as well. There was an on-site restaurant that served delicious food too.
The not so good:
The people who worked here were very unfriendly. I understand that there is a language barrier, but the 2 women who we interacted with spoke very good english. Yet, they were snippy, rude & completely uninterested in helping us. Right in the lobby it says no reservation necessary to take a tour of their vineyard. Guess what? They didn't have room for us. Right on the wall they have a sign that says "WiFi Access". Guess what? No internet & when we had the audacity to ask about it, they snapped at us. Want to enjoy a rainy day by sleeping in? Guess what ? They will call you to tell you if you don't leave your room RIGHT NOW, they won't clean it. I could go on & on. These were the least friendly people we'd encountered in Spain, and it definitely made us sad that we'd spent the extra money on this place. Also, as I mentioned, we got the suite for extra romance - we had 2 twin beds with separate bedding in the room! I wouldn't recommend it if you are english-speaking or hoping for friendly hosts.
