We were upgraded to the Tempranillo room, and I would stay here again if I had that room. It is very large with a big window showcasing a terrific view of the vineyards and countryside, with two chairs and a small table, and is relatively quiet because it is at the end of the hall. (Two single beds, though.) The other rooms we saw seemed rather small and dark, and faced another direction with little view.
Our room and bathroom were clean and well kept. Staff were polite, and reserved. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel.
The hotel is located a short distance outside the Laguardia city walls, a five to ten minute walk to the city center, uphill along a very small access road / pedestrian path. The walk is not unpleasant or difficult, even at night, although the incline is not for the aged or infirm. You can't drive inside the city, anyway, and must park outside the city walls.
We took the free tour of the winery offered to guests, in English, and had no problems arranging it.
Of all the towns we visited in the Rioja region (and Laguardia is not in La Rioja proper), I would definitely choose to stay in Laguardia again. It is not large and impersonal like Logrono, but is charming, historically well preserved, and big enough to offer a reasonable choice of restaurants and shops.
