“Will be going back.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

I went to Kavos Bay in Agia Marina, was made welcome from the way go. Great place for completely calming down. I do Meditation, Yoga and Tai Chi...the backroads were worth a meditation, for there are a lot of loose rocks, allthough the view is absolutely fantastic, once you are there. There is transport to the main street, and if you ask nicely, other places in the neighbourhood too. This rates high in my book, as I did go solo, and fitted me quite well.

Sebastiaan.

“Less than basic!”

The hotel is old, looks like it has never been innovated and offers less than basic!

Although the rooms are well cleaned, the shower is full of mold and rust. Although there is an a/c, it isn't working. Although it is included in the hotel amenities, there is no TV set.Although the hotel's shuttle bus is advertised, it has broken down months ago and now is left to rot on the street. Although they offer free WiFi, you can't get it in your room.

Afterall, it's overpriced for what it has to offer! You better try finding a more decent and honest place to stay!

“A jewel above the Aegean.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

Listen to the quiet, inhale the sea air, and embrace the warmth of instant friendship. That's what this lovely small hotel is all about. Here you have a retreat that lives up to its website promises. Family hospitality is unmatched. Views from each room straight on to the Aegean are unmatched, and if it's too hot for you, simply switch on the air conditioning or walk 100 meters and plunge into the sea. As for hospitality, I arrived during Independence Day weekend for Americans and dined on celebratory hot dogs and hamburgers that evening. In the morning I awoke to french toast followed, the next day, by pancakes, all topped off with maple syrup. A classy touch, and while not something that could be expected all the time, it shows what a thoughtful hosts Irene, Nikkos, and Anthula are. On another day, a Danish gentleman, who had speared an octopus, enjoyed it cooked to perfection that evening. You will not find such warmth and caring at the big hotels, or, for that matter, any of the other establishments on the island, but if you are looking for something small, quiet, and welcoming, this is the place. Yes, it's a short hike to town, but still close to everything you would want, which, in my case, was good food, peace, and family.

Room Tip: All rooms look straight out at the Aegean.

“The warmest welcome, along with a great location, simply two reasons to return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

A great place to relax, fabulous views, good food, friendly people. A must to visit is the temple of Aphaia which is a short bus journey from Agia Marina. Check bus times with the bus driver as the published timetable is not always reliable.
The town of Agia Marina is just a short walk from the hotel, and has a good beach, lots of inexpensive restaurants.
A truly wonderful holiday experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms have sea views

“It doesn't get any better than this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

Because we live in Athens, we searched for a hotel out of any city center on the island. We found this one, near Agia Marina, on a beautiful spot near the sea. It's a small hotel, with simple rooms (and superior views), and a very nice people who are running the place. They love this place just as much as their guests, and that's what makes it something special.

The hotel has their own beach, where you can swim, snorkel, sunbath or hide in the shadow under the trees during the warmer hours of the day. If you want, they bring you to the city center of Agia Marina, but you can also walk. The nature is beautiful.

What is also very good, is the food. It's all local, made from fresh ingredients and lot's of passion. ;) It's better than the food you get in most taverna's. And again, a seat on a terrace with a beautiful view on the open sea, you can't get that anywhere else.

No, this is not a hotel for party animals. But if you like quiet and nature, just pack a good book, walking shoes and snorkeling gear, and go on a trip to Kavos Bay.
