“A bit expensive, but convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

If you want to go with your family, or for a romantic gateway, forget it.
If you want to party, but to be in a quiet area during morning to rest a bit, or head to the sea while coming back from the Space, this is a really nice spot.
Rooms are a bit small, not perfectly cleaned, but it's ok for a short stay when you will anyway be most of the time on the beach or the dancefloor.
Seaview rooms have great balcony.

“Wonderful setting”

We stayed at the hostal in April 2010.. We were familiar with Talamanca and chose the hostal because of its typical Ibencian characteristics and it's postion on the beach. We had paid extra for a beach view from our room but when we checked in they gave us a room on the road side. When this was queried we were given a beach viwe room which was excellent. You could almost touch the sand. Breakfast was included and was more than adequate. Unpretentious but has hotel qualities. Would totally recommend if you want to experience accmodaion without the corporate slant, Loved it.

“Nice little hotel right on the beach”

Stayed in Hostal Talamanca over Easter weekend 2010.
It's right on Talamanca beach which has a few places to eat /bars.
Breakfast was fairly typical - bread, fruit, cheeses etc. Perfectly fine.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked for a mojito one night and got an amazing strawberry one.
We had a room over looking the street. We weren't that bothered as out in the town most of the day and night. Our room was by the reception so a little noisy at times. The room was a little small but fine for the weekend. The bathroom was small too. Probably could do with a bit of a revamp.
There is a marina nearby with lots of restaurants and bars - maybe a tad pricey. Town is a 25 minute walk. We would walk in and get a taxi (8 euros) back at night. I've seen reviews moaning about this walk and saying it felt unsafe. We walked it on many occasions along Carrer de Joan Carles and never felt worried. Get a taxi!
I would recommend this to friends for a reasonable hotel right on the beach.
It's quite close to Pacha night club too!
Can imagine it may be a bit of a party / lounge type place in the summer.

“Just the best place to stay!”

We were recommended to stay here by friends who live on ibiza so we came for a few days and fell in love with the Hostal completely. Full of friendly and helpful staff, the room, although basic, was just great with ensuite shower room and the views from the balcony simply stunning. The food was fab and the whole atmosphere of the place just fantastic. Instant relaxation and close to Ibiza town as well being 5 minutes from the Harbour then 15 minutes by boat to the Old Town.

Just go there, you will not regret it! We didn't and we will be going back, next time for far longer!

“Hotel at the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2006

We stayed in the Talamanca Hostal for three nights from last sunday. We had booked the room with no balcony or sea-view. As we got there the receptionist asked if we would like to have either one and pay extra of course. We did not. He did not tell us anything but I understood that the room he was trying to put us in was not ready or he did not find the key, so he gave another - it turned up to be a room on the first floor with balcony on a road side. We got there, the room door was open, one bed made, other not and we could hear the maids talking in another room. At first a little confused, but then we went to the maids and then they came and finished cleaning the room - bottom line the room was not ready, although we arrived well after 13. We spent some time in our room, soon the sun turned right to our balcony and we dragged the mattress out to the balcony and layed in the sun for couple of hours. Although there was a downside to it - the kitchen was very near and the smell of grease travelled to our noses little too often.
It was a sunday night and quite loud party downstairs, sounded like a caraoke. The air was quite damp in the night and there were no extra blankets except bed cover, so it was quite chilly at times in the night.
In the morning breakfast buffet from 8.15 to 10.00, selection was basic - platter of ham, other cheese, third tomatos, dark and light bread, some fruits, jam, joghurt, cereal, coffe, tea, juice, boiled eggs, muffins - that's pretty much it. And the same thing the other morning. The third time we did not get to eat it, because we had an early flight.
On a third day in the morning we placed a 'please clean our room' sign on the door and left for town. As we got back about 15 o'clock we found our room exactly as we had left it, not cleaned. We had a plan to go to the beach and so we did. And when we got back from there in the evening, it was cleaned. In the last night we also experienced some loud noises downstairs (our room was exactly over entrance).
Also there was a quite intensive smell on cleaning product in the halls, it could of been vinegar if to deside by the smell, and the water was very full of chlorine and the water pressure of shower unstable.
But we managed to manage - we did not use the hotel for much more than sleeping and cleaning ourselves up. I guess the experience was what to expect from a two star hotel.
I have to admit, the location of the hotel is good - right at the beach of Talamanca.
Would I stay there again - only for a short period perhaps.

  • Liked — Located at the beach
  • Disliked — Smell of the cleaning products in the halls
  • Tips/Secrets — It is probably best to stay at the seaside
