“Magnifique Manceliere”

We had a great time staying in Les Hirondelles at La Haute Manceliere in September. The smallest of the 3 accomodations at LHM, it was very cosy and perfect for us and our two little ones, although I did find the old (original) staircase a bit tricky sometimes when carrying the baby. The location is good, secluded but with the town of Saint Brice a 5-10 minute drive away and St Malo, Dinard, Mont St Michel etc under an hour away. As many others have mentioned the heated, covered pool at LHM is fab and the swings, trampoline and other garden toys were enjoyed by our two year old. The home-made cake was a much appreciated welcome gift along with the milk, beer and wine! In terms of amenities almost everything you could need is provided and if you did need anything else Susan goes out of her way to help you. All in all a really great stay in a lovely part of the world - thank you :)

“The Perfect Brittany Hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

La Haute Mancelliere is perfect. We arrived very late but were warmly welcomed by a home made cake and some local wine. The house is very well equipped, beautifully decorated and spacious and comfortable. The grounds are fantastic. A swimming pool that due to its cover had us swimming out doors in October. There's a boules pitch and lots of play equipment for the children. We were there with a teenage son and had a fabby time but the formula would work just as well with a young family or with grandparents. The surrounding area is Brittany (and indeed France) at its best - loads of character without hoards of tourists. The local village is very picturesque and the area is very accessible for St Malo, Dinard, Mont St Michael - all worth a visit. We'll be back and that's the biggest recommendation we can make.

Room Tip: We stayed in Les Alouttes which is a self-contained room and bathroom on the ground floor as well as...

“Found:- a perfect place to stay”

There are places which become very special - La Haute Manceliere is absolutely one of those. It is the subtle combination of many ingredients which makes it so.
The setting, the surrounding fields and working farms, the friendliness of the immediate neighbours and those in nearby villages all contribute.
Then there are the large beautiful grounds which provide activities for the energetic and peaceful shade or space in the sun for those less so inclined! And for all there is the delight of a swmimming pool kept at a pleasant temperature whatever the weather.
Someone has to make all this work, which Susan does with grace and elegance, warmth and great kindness.
Before we send this we think we should book now for next year!

Room Tip: Depends entirely on size of group. All the gites are very attractive, and for a small group -two ad...

“La Haute Manceliere, a gem in the countryside!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Set in a lovely peaceful country location but so close to all the amenities and main roads to take advantage of visiting the many beautiful Medieval towns and beaches that Brittany has to offer.
The accommodation was excellent and having a swimming pool to use everyday was great. The welcome was special - the cake and wine - a much appreciated personal touch - thank you Susan.

“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

My friends and our babies had a wonderful time at La Haute Manceliere. The accommodation is very baby friendly and the large garden with the pool, swing and trampoline was great too. We also appreciated the free use of the bikes! Susan, the owner, was really friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend the place. There are also some good things to do in the local area but you need a car.
