1) In winter the rooms get really cold, I think you should bring your own blankets or just really warm winter clothing for bed. Including 2-3 pairs of socks! I had my own room and I was freezing most nights which has thrown out my sleep pattern a fair bit.
2) You will get a culture shock if you're from a western country. The small room soon becomes a good place to rest.
3) The mattress is quite thin, if you have problems speak to the staff!
4) The staff are happy to help (or they're paid too if they have a problem with it) I had no problems with them helping me book things online or giving me directions.
5) Cleaning....you actually have to ask for your room to be cleaned. This annoyed me a fair bit as I had a lot of packaging from shopping which I wanted cleared.
6) I read about lice/bed bugs in the dorms before going, I didn't see any evidence of it. Maybe it was because I had a different room and I'm clean?
The biggest con is the hard to find location. The locals were really kind and even directed me to the place on foot, something I wouldn't find in my own country. It's about 20 mins by foot and there aren't any buses to help you out!
