I stayed in Chisun Hotel Ueno in Tokyo for one night on my way from Kyoto to Tokyo-Narita. One needs to really work hard to find this hotel after coming out of Ueno station. It is located in a narrow lane (drivable though) and I found it difficult to find it. However, once you are there, you'll find it to be a quiet place to sleep and the Ueno station is really close to this place.

I asked for a non-smoking room, but the receptionist said all such rooms are already occupied. So, I had to take a room where the last occupant was a smoker. I kept the windows open for a couple of hours before I could manage to sleep. Other than this, the room was good. With a TV, internet (wired), small refrigerator, attached bath (equipped) and a nice bed, I had nothing to complain. It was really good.

I didn't eat at their restaurant as I had a prior invitation somewhere else, but I saw many people eating there in the morning. It looks to be a popular restaurant there.

I can recommend this hotel if you want something reasonably priced in Tokyo.

I stayed here for 10 days. The room was very clean, and so was the bathroom in excellent condition, everything you need. It was nice and quite. No trace's of the previous occupant. I didn't eat in the hotel as it hotels location had a lot of eating places, at great prices. If you just want a place to sleep, while you explore the city, then it's perfect. Only three minor complaints, where the lack of english from some of the staff. But you do feel welcome. The distance is a bit of a walk from Ueno station. The ice machine was broken, through my entire stay. I would certainly stay in another Chisun hotel, if it's Ueno hotel is a representive....Johnny from england.

Even though hotel is slightly far from Ueno station, (10 mins) walking in the cold could be demanding for children. But the location in Ueno is great and easy excess to many other places of interests. Quiet hotel with basic amenities.

I love the Chisun hotels. I enjoyed the hotel and didn't find anything to complain about. The bed was so comfortable.
