“Looking for cheap accommodation and value for money in Tokyo? Juyoh hotel it is!.”

Great price! Very clean with room cleaning evry 2 days. Showers and toilets are very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed 6 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. A bit far from central Tokyo, but local trains and subways in Japan are cheap and fast. The area in which it is located is not very appropriate for ladies to walk alone. There are many bars around and men wander around starring. It has convenience stores and a supermarket nearby. Strongly recommended accommodation in Tokyo!

“Great cheap hostel away from central Tokyo frenzy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Charming, this hotel is not really. It looks more like a business hotel with no soul for the common areas (almost 10 floors). Located in Minamisenju, a north-east Tokyo borough where many homeless live (however they do never bother you). Here are the only negative points.
Now in terms of positive, there are many: after the reception the 1st floor offers everything you need with a guest kitchen, sofas with TV and various video game systems for those who loves this, FREE internet acces with 4 PCs (even including a Linux system!!! too rare these days so it's appreciate :) ) and 1 Mac, so you don't have to wait or spend 200 Yens for a 20 minutes internet acces, recent air conditionners in rooms with silent mode for the night (really useful), mini-fridge in each room. But the most important thing for a cheap traveler hostel, even in Tokyo, is the cleanliness and especially the calm and silence in common areas and rooms, although the hotel is glued to a large busy street in day. You can easily sleep in this place so that's why I really enjoy this place.
All of this for a one low price (nearly 6000 Yens for a private twin japanese style room when I stayed in with free yakuta and towel provided), hard to find better for the same price in Tokyo.

Highly recommended place !

Last thing, it's located at 15 minutes by walk from Minamisenju station, and the last floor has a private bath that you can book.

“For the price, best in Tokyo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011 via mobile

Great hotel with a hostel vibe. Staff and guests so friendly, which made my stay here brilliant. Rooms were clean, with great amenities. Location was good, slightly out of the 'happening' parts of the city, but you have everything you need close by like supermarkets, local shops, and you also feel less like a tourist. All round great hotel for the money...well done juyoh!

“Amazing hotel!! Great quality, great price.”

I'm so happy with this hotel. If I ever come back to Japan I will stay in this hotel again.

The price is so cheap for the kind of hotel that it is.
It has everything you may need: computers with free wifi connection at lobby; free lockers, vending machines, microwave, showers, japanese bath., laundry, elevator. It's very big, 10 floors, you always find a vacant shower. Showers have champoo, towels, hair dryers...

In the room you have air conditioning, TV, fridge, wifi, towel, a yukata...

Most of rooms are single which is good because the price is very low anyway, (in May, 2700 yen only!!) and you have more room for your things. Even if you are travelling with someone, I think it's a good idea to get single rooms.

About the staff, very good english, helpful and nice.
About the location, it's the best you can find with these conditions and price.
You get the JR Joban line and it takes just 2 minutes to be in Nippori, where you can get the yamanote line. You can also get the Hibiya metro line.

“Best bang for buck in Tokyo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

I've stayed at this hotel many times through the years and just had an overnight stay a few days ago. They do well to cater to English speaking clientele as the location is a working class area of Tokyo. It's not pretty around the hotel and some locals tell me the area is bad but it's not like you're in danger or anything.
The hotel is a communal type, shared bathrooms, sinks, and showers. Some floors don't contain facilities so I remember having to go upstairs or down in the night to reach them! I stayed on the sixth floor this trip and they recently added nice new bathrooms and showers there. These are now private for each gender as before it used to be one unisex room containing everything. I didn't check the other floors to see if those facilities had been redone as well but I assume they were.
Rooms are smoking or non-smoking. You can see by the photos the size of each room and they look the same now as then. Beds are comfortable being they are Japanese style and probably heavily used. Each room contains a air conditioner/heater, TV, lamp, small table, and a window you can open. I always get a good rest there as guests are typically quiet and to themselves. The hotel staff are new since I last stayed in 2009 and it was nice to be greeted with smiles and helpful attitudes.
The drawbacks are location as it's a bit removed from the hotspots of Tokyo. Again, it's not a pretty area and there are sometimes drunks you have step around upon walking the neighborhood. They have restaurants nearby and a convenience market next door which helps out. Since public transportation is cheap in Tokyo it's location shouldn't bother too much but it's a 10 min. walk to the closest train/subway station.
All in all I'm always pleased with my stay and look forward to coming again.
