“good to stay if planning to go countdown on New Year's Eve”

being located so near to Sensoji temple and within walking distance to Asakusa station, this inn is ideal for travellers who are planning a stay during New Year's Eve. We participated in the countdown at Sensoji temple at midnight and was so glad our hotel was just nearby so that we can get a rest wuickly. Room is small but sufficient for a good night sleep. Skytree can be seen from windows. Room is very clean and bathroom comes with good shampoo, body wash etc which makes a pleasant stay for us! will stay again if visit Tokyo again!

“Sanctuary”

Our family of eight stayed at the Blue Wave hotel Asakusa in October (2011) . We had 4 rooms, on different floors and each room had different features, and were different sizes, but all were extremely comfortable. We all had semi double rooms, so they had heaps of space compared with any other business hotel that we have stayed in Japan. Some of the rooms even had a lounge and table.
The front desk staff were extremely nice, and the service staff were very friendly and extremely efficient. The rooms were cleaned top to bottom every day of our 5 day stay. There were non smoking floors in this hotel, which is MAJOR on our list of good places to stay. We were caught up in the Qantas shut down and were uncertain as to what to do, but the hotel gave us a discounted rate an we were able to stay on for an extra 2 nights until we were able to arrange another flight back to Australia. I can highly reccommend this hotel for its peace, we also had a view over the Sensoji.. its position to he trains and convenience to Tokyo.
It cost about $25 to get a cab from here to Tokyo station, so getting all of our luggage to the station was made easy in 2 taxis. The hotel staff arranged the taxis to have English speaking drivers too (bonus).. Tokyo taxi drivers can be very funny, and we had jokes all the way to Tokyo station. Free internet was great especially as we had to find a flight and rebook our return trip home to Australia. The in house breakfast was fresh and very nice. Buffet style, western and Japanese choices.

Room Tip: Ask for a non smoking floor with a room overlooking the Sensoji.

“Bog standard hotel - good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Hotel with small rooms, but location right next to Senso-ji Temple compensates to some extent for this. Plentiful buffet breakfast, with Japanese and Western options.

“Better than I expected!”

Located right next to Asakusa Temple. Good if you are a tourist. But if thou are a business traveller, the hotel is a little far from subway. It'a about 8-10 min walk from subway station. The neighborhood is nice. Literally minutes from main tourist attractions. The room was very nice and clean. The interior is quite different from other business hotels with a touch of its blue decor. WIFI was bad but wired connection worked fine. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Asakusa area.

“a nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

i stayed in Blue Wave Inn one night for Sumida-gawa firework festival. the hotel location was ok, took me around 5-min walk to asakusa temple, and 10-min walk to the river/firework area.
room was small, but it's same as other tokyo hotels. FREE INTERNET in the room, though there's no wifi.
