This hotel is situated very well if you are travelling via the Narita airport. I used the new Skyliner train to get to Ueno metro station and from there with the subway to Asakusa metro station.

The hotel is easily reached by subway from anywhere in the city. There is a 5-10 minutes walk from the Asakusa metro station. There were easy to find a taxi.

The room was small but clean and functional. In the room there were a refrigerator and a waterboiler. The aircondition worked well. The staff was very polite but had rather poor level of english.

Smile Hotel Asakusa is nothing fancy, but it is definitely a good value for Tokyo. We got a rate of less than $60 per night, and while the room was tiny, you can't expect much else in Tokyo. All the necessities were included, it was clean, and it was affordable.

Pros: Good location if you want to explore Asakusa (which has a lot to see), clean, comfortable, affordable, right on the main road

Cons: Long walk from the metro (15-20 mins depending on which line), only one elevator

As it is a budget hotel I wasn't expecting anything amazing.
The room was clean and the shower was good. It was a little noisy the first time I stayed as I was next to the laundry room. When I came back for a final night at the end of my trip that room smelt of smoke. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Bearable but next time will spend more money elsewhere.
Would reccommend for people on a tight budget.
