Make sure you take the east exit. Look around the Ikebukuro station as long as it takes until you find the east exit. This is very important unless you have a phone capable of gps in Japan. If you go out the east exit, the directions are simple, take a left and just follow the road until you run into it, if you go out any other exit, you'll be wandering for awhile.
I liked the area alot, really cute and a great area for getting your first taste of japanese city culture without being overwhelmingly crowded, I've never felt unsafe in Japan.
From other reviews I expected the breakfast to be more western than it was. I knew it was a blend but I wouldn't say it's particularly something that a typical westerner would find familiar, except for the cereal. For example, I open up a hot dish cover and it's hot dog slices. Don't get me wrong I love japanese food and I loved this buffet (except for hot dogs), but to say it is surprisingly western gave me a different expectation. Maybe it is western relative to other places in the same price range-- like each morning I had a hard-boiled egg, a couple rolls that to westerners might be considered "dinner rolls", a fried vegetable that I never identified but was delicious, some white rice and coffee jell-o. Everyone will be able to find something they want to eat, but don't think that western means bagels and sausage. I do imagine the buffet changes up quite frequently though, so maybe another time it's different stuff. I was not disappointed at all, I just want to give the clearest picture I can.
The air conditioning in the room did not get very cold, but cold enough to provide at least some relief from the August swelter. I still wanted to take colder showers so as to not heat up the room any more and drying my hair with a hairdryer was only rare as it got kind of sweaty.
We had the three slightly-larger-than-single-beds room (the "triple") and it was really just like one enormous bed against the wall. We were all comfortable though, I just might not suggest this if you don't know the people you're rooming with very well.... you'll be stepping over each other constantly.

Dear SharonMcSharon
We appreciate your comments - it is also great advice you give about using the East Exit from the station. Ikebukuro is an amazing area and the station quite large so this is a great tip for easy access which will be beneficial for fellow travellers.
We do try to offer great variety on the breakfast menu to suit a range of tastes - we are pleased that you also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
There are four wonderful seasons in Japan, each one so different and providing a different perspective of Tokyo.
We do hope that you have the opportunity to visit us again soon and we look forward to welcoming you.
Kind regards
Ryuji Chiku
