“By far the best hostel in japan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This place has it all, staff is friendly and the rooms are impecable, there's a bar down the street where guests can hang out after a day of exploring the amazing tokyo. there's a 100 yen shop a few feet away from the hostel where you will find everything a backpacker needs. it's just a few minutes walking from asakusa station. for a little extra money you can get a cabin bed which is a whole different experience. make sure you stop by next time you are in tokyo.

“Great hostel, great staff, great travelers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We stayed in this hostel on a few occasions and loved it. It's spotlessly clean, the staff are fantastic and we really liked the location. There is free internet and wifi, there are loads of dvd's for people to watch and there is a kitchen. On one of the nights the staff dressed up for halloween and cooked for all the guests! Highly recommended. We stayed in October 2010.

“Clean and free interent.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights, the location was good and bad. It was in an interesting are in Asakusa and was down a nice quiet street but we had JR passes and the nearest JR station was Ueno so the walk down the road was good at first but got quite tiring in the end, especialy walking back at night. It is nearer a different train station but seeing as we'd already payed for our ticket we didn't want to spend more. The room we had was a private double - a bunk bed. It was ok, no windows but we were in a quiet corridor downstairs so we pretty much had the bathroom to ourselves. It's clean and the receptionist is very friendly, there is free internet and tv. There are four floors though and no lift. The price is good also.

“It was interesting experience...but so-so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2010

It's far from the station over the Sumida river about 10 minutes walk.

We got a 3 room but had 4 bunks, it was small but it's just a place to sleep, not a hotel. The little dining area on the top floor where our rooms were was quite small. Hard to sit around without worrying that a door would open or someone wanted to get into their room.

Sharing bathrooms I found icky...Don't like wet floors of the only one bathroom on the floor. It's not recommended if you have suitcases like we did...hauling up those flights of stairs were so dangerous!!!!
you had to be real careful because if you fell, you would be done for....

Some of the staff were nice, but I found most of the time they were a bit snooty but i just ignored it...maybe they had something I don't know. We never were notified of parties that were apparently happening so when we returned one night there was a Halloween party happening.

So it's a good place to just sleep, meet some interesting people and rude people, squished place to brush your teeth or apply makeup///as the dining tables were in the way and didn't like to interrupt someone eating to move to do your grooming...

Beds were comfortable but not in the way you probably are used to at home, they dorm beds are bunks with wiring.

Also around the corner is a cheap LAWSON 100 Yen shop, you could buy so much food here so cheap.

I would give it a 5/10

I never thought I could get such a confortable, clean and spacious room for such a fair price. And besides that the staff at the reception could speak good English which is a tremendous asset in Tokyo!
