The room is sufficient as it is clean and maintained well (no cockroaches under the beds and amenities inside are still useable).
However, the old man in the reception/lobby area was not friendly nor polite. He could've been more friendly in dealing with me and my friends when we checked in.
Hotel location is okay as it is a 10-minute walk from the train station (just like other inexpensive hotels in Tokyo).

Hotel Tateshina is about 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, so it is quite convenient.
It was a pleasant stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room facilities were very well maintained over the length of our stay. Some people may chuckle at the '80's-inspired' bedcovers. :-) We would highly recommend this hotel for travellers on a budget.

Can added free japanese rice in breakfast meal , I like it so much.

I stayed at Hotel Tateshina for a total of 5 nights. I enjoyed the fact that I was just a ten minute walk from Shinjuku station(you are even closer to Shinuku Sanchome station) I would describe this hotel as a more of a business like hotel. I enjoyed the fact that I could come in and out throughout the day with ease. I felt safe there. The staff was friendly, both the front desk and the housekeepers. I stayed at Hotel Sunroute (another hotel in the Tokyo area, with multiple locations) and I have to stay I would prefer Hotel Tateshina. My room had a mini fridge in it as well, which I did not expect since at Hotel Sunroute my room did not have one. This is a good hotel if you are looking for a place just to leave your stuff at while you are out and about in Tokyo. It's quiet during the evening so you can rest well too. There is free LAN connection for internet usage. I did not have a cable and the front desk loaned one to me to use during my stay. It was super kind of them.
