“okay place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

There's a curfew at night and you can only shower during the specified times, but overall it's a decent stay. If you get back past the curfew, you can still get in, but will have to call and wait for the person to come get you.

Bed's a bit hard but relatively comfy. The room we had had 2 bunk beds (4 beds) and a table in addition to locker space. The bunkbeds have curtains around them. The view from the room is nice since it's on the 18/19th floor. It's pretty quiet except for some morning announcements sometimes. I also liked the wifi, but some people had problems staying connected to it. There's also coin laundry/dryer (no detergent so buy your own though). Hot/cold water is available on the 19th floor.

The shower/bath is shared space so if you're uncomfortable getting naked in front of others, bring a towel with you or get one for 200 yen. Shampoo/body wash is provided. If you don't like sharing and want more privacy, you can get a small hotel room of your own elsewhere for less than 1000 yen more.

Iidabashi 飯田橋駅 station (of 4 Tokyo metro lines as well as JR) is right downstairs. There are many shops/restaurants and a supermarket in the same building (on the other side).

“Friendly hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Very good hostel, with very helpful staff members who speak a brilliant level of English. As there were three of us we had a dorm room to ourselves, which was great. The views of the sunset at night were gorgous. Beds were comfortable. There is a curfew, but that was out of their hands as it is a government building. This did not cause any trouble though as they give you a number you can call at anytime to enter the building after curfew. Only downside was that it was quite expensive for a hostel- though it was right beside train/subway, which made up for it.

“If you don't mind dorm room..this place is pretty good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

I have stayed this youth hostel many times. Most of the time, I was placed 4 bed dormitory room and spent nice time sharing room with nice people.(did not nessesarily talk each other through )I slept large room with more than 8 people(as long as I remember) only once, but don't worry this is also a comfortable room.
In my opinion more and more Japanese people stay here compared with some years ago.
People stay here, I feel, they are nice people. They behave themselves.I was almost never bothered in dorm room or other place in the hostel. Each bed has curtain so you'll have privacy as well.
In the bathroom, there are private shower rooms as well as pablic bath.(There are curtain) You have to undress before entering those rooms but it is a few steps.Soap and Shampoo are provided.

“Convenient Location With Breathtaking View at Night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

The dorm beds were solid & clean,we liked the secured door lock & locker provided is convenient & big enough for trolley bags. There are metro station(Lidabashi) and at least 3major subway lines on level B1. Food & basic amenities can be bought at the complex on ground floor. The reception spoke excellent English & the hostel provides a lot of travel guide/ tips. Ask for direction or advise, they will gladly assist! Japanese bath area & private shower rooms are not separated, so don't be shy if the place is crowded.. breakfast is cheap.

Good location near station, also very helpful staff that could speak very good English. We paid a little extra for a Japanese style Family room that had Futons and a fantastic view.
The food was OK,never had lettuce for breakfast before.
Great range of guests, football teams, netball teams and several families.Communal baths ,toilets and showers all clean.Highly recommended for a family. Also local area has some interesting places and only min 20 min walk to Imperial Palace.

Room Tip: Book early for Family room up to 2 months ahead
