The worst part of my time Tokyo. This hostel was very disappointing. I wish I had stayed somewhere else during my 3 nights in Tokyo. I dreaded coming back to this hostel in the evening. I didn't care about the curfew, as a young woman travelling alone-it was the horribly uncomfortable beds, check out at 10, lights that literally go off at 11, vending machines that eat your money and lack of basic services travellers have come to expect that was the problem, (internet, anyone?) and the inability of anyone around being willing to help. Not only that, but travellers are kicked out of the hostel for the entire day for "cleaning." (?) I could go on...

When I read positive reviews, it's hard to belive that we are speaking about the same hostel. I vowed after staying here that I would warn other travellers.

The location is the only positive aspect of this hostel, but plenty of other hostels offer good location without the pain.

I stayed at Tokyo International Youth Hostel a few years ago when I first visited Tokyo. I stayed there for six nights. They didn't let me stay longer than that, so I had to move to other place the last 3 nights of my trip.

For the price I paid and the beautiful city view I got from the room, it was a great value. The room was dorm style with two bunk beds. I also got a small locker in the room which barely fit my luggage. The location was good. It was 1 minute walk from the Iidabashi station.

I was a solo traveler and my roommates changed several times during my stay. The sleeping quality really depended on whom you stayed with. The last night of my stay, two of my roommates got up at 5AM. They spent hours doing makeups, using regular volume of voice to chat, and going back and forth between the table and their lockers to get something. It was super noisy and annoying! At first I thought they were leaving early, but I was wrong. They were still in the room while I left at about 9am!! Because of this horrible experience, I never stay at a shared room again. Another drawback of this hostel is that, they did not allow guests to stay in the room between 9am and 3pm. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay for budget travelers.

This was a great place to stay. I stayed with a large group and everything was clean and nice. The main point of my trip was to sightsee so as long as I had a safe and comfortable place to sleep I was happy!

Located conveniently near shinjuku. Modern, clean, friendly, good facilities. Also Amazing views of the tokyo skyline because you are so many floors up. the early curfew keeps out the party boys and the riff-raff. Ideal place for families with children.
