We booked this hotel knowing little about Tokyo or where the best place to stay would be.
It turns out it's near the gay precinct, which is great for restaurants and bars. There were quite a few western places which kept us If happy - including a Mexican restaurant, English pub and as usual in Japan, Italian restaurants(though some didn't have any english menus which made it difficult.) There was also the most fantastic vegetarian burger place practically across the road from the hotel.
The hotel and rooms were what I would call 'business standard.' The room was very small, the bathroom was smaller, and although it seemed quite modern the fittings weren't the greatest.
On our next trip to Tokyo I will pay closer attention to the sites I wish to visit(like the technology precinct) and book a more suitable venue - this hotel is quite a distance from anywhere(from memory it was a $30 taxi trip from Shinjuku railway station) and other than the relatively small gay area with bars and restaurant, there isn't much around.
I don't have much bad to say about the place(it was less than $100 a night) but I would choose differently next time.
