“Good budget accom in a great location, shame about the internet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2011

This was a great base for me as a solo traveller for a few nights in Tokyo. The price is quite reasonable given the location.

The single rooms are very small, but that is standard for Japan. A basic continental breakfast is available downstairs. You can save a small amount of money by opting for an "eco-stay" where your towels and linen are not changed daily.

The hotel is only 50m from an exit of Shinjuku Sanchome station, a handy station with an interchange of 3 separate subway lines that can whisk you away around the city. It's a very short walk to the west to the main commercial area of Shinjuku where shops and restaurants abound.

The hotel is in Shinjuku Ni-Chome which is known as the "gay area" of Tokyo but the area does not seem sleazy or dangerous.

My biggest gripe is that although free internet is provided in the lobby it is not until after 10am. If you want to look something up online before heading out for the day this is really too late. Better do it by midnight the previous night when the computers are removed.

“Great Location - Great Value - Needs thicker doors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

This hotel is wonderful in relation to price, location, cleanliness and great staff however they need to install thicker doors in their rooms. I was constantly woken up by people out in the hall ways talking really loudly or closing their doors.
The rooms are SMALL. Only book the single room if you are in fact single and have very little luggage. The double room is bigger but only slightly but in my eyes better value for money. Bathrooms are even tinier.
I would stay there again only know knowing what I know now.

“Cute Tokyo Boutique Hotel”

Location was hard to find because directions on other sites were so vague. It's a great location to the metro line. It's at the Shinjuku-Sanchrome station. From the Shinjuku Station underground, just follow the light green C line to exit C8. You'll come out next to the BYGS department store, take a sharp left turn. There is a Dominique Saibon bakery on the corner. Down the street, the hotel is on the left. From the street level, you'd have to walk along Meiji Dori until you see a huge building with the sign ISETAN department store. Take a right onto Shinjuku Dori. Then follow the direction after you see BYGS and Domnique Saibon bakery. Free internet, unlimited green tea, coffee, water, ice. Laundry service, breakfast...staff could speak alittle English. Would stay here again.

“Clean comfortable affordable hotel in a great Tokyo location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2010

Stayed 4 nights. Travelled with 2 young children so booked two rooms which for us was very good value. Rooms are small but typical for Japanese city hotels. Very clean and comfortable considering size. Bathroom seemed smaller than others we stayed at but it was fine. Staff were professional and friendly. Breakfast was satisfactory with choice of fresh croissants and breads. Loved the location close to subway San-Chome Shinjuku. Airconditioning in room was well appreciated as a comparison to others we've experienced during our travels in Japan. The Japanese seem to like their rooms and baths very very hot so ability to adjust the room temperature to our liking was wonderful :)
