“Great hotel, good size room and bathroom, clean and great staff!”

Stayed at this hotel for 12 nights in a single room. A very good size room for Tokyo. Also a reasonable room rate! Was happy to find haning space and a shelf above it for clothes storage. Having stayed at a couple of hotels in tokyo before, this was a luxury li hadnt previously had. Room had a sweet little couch under the window, a quite nice bathroom, one that even had a bath. Once again, relative to other japanese hotels i found it to be 'spacious' you cant judge these hotels by their counterparts in other major cities in the world. Its just not the same here. Only had breakfast once but it was a nice yet not too extensive buffet. If you request not to have your room serviced you are issued a 500 yen voucher. Although cant refuse service 2 days in a row. So I did it every second day and managed to accumulate some money for nothing! Great!
I found the location very convenient to shinjuku area and station. It was central to so many shops and caves I wanted to visit in the area. Some people have commented on the area being a little unsavory. I didn't find it anything to worry about at all. It may be a little off putting if you have a family and are venturing out at night though. I which case the back path mentioned by other posters is ideal. It completely avoids the African pimps. Though they know who not to harass.

Dear SirNicholasP,

Thank you very much for taking your time to comment on your recent stay with us.

It is a pleasure to hear that you were satisfied throughout your stay.
As for the 500 yen voucher instead of the make-up service, this service is only for guests who have mentioned to the reception staff that they won't be needing the cleaning service before 9am on the day of the request or earlier. This can be arranged also via phone of the room.

The location of the hotel is one of our strengths as we are relatively close to stations of four types of the main subways and railways in Tokyo.

Thank you very much once again for such wonderful comments.
We look forward to your return to our hotel.

Sincerely,

“Definitely don't regret it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Absolutely amazing location, right near the Golden Gai. The free buffet was pretty useless, but maybe that's because we are vegetarian and therefore had not much at all to choose from. Meat eaters might find the buffet better. Still, can't complain with free food. Rooms are tiny but cute, and I was really comfortable. The toilets, as in most of Japan, are awesome.

“Perfect location for exploring Tokyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here for 4 nights in January, on our first ever trip to Japan. The location is excellent, in the heart of Shinjuku. It provides a great opportunity to explore the local area, especially at night when it comes alive with bars, restaurants and girls shows! The hotel is about 8-10 minutes walk from the train station, allowing access to the subway and trains into the main Tokyo station.
Great value for money, and the room included a buffet breakfast. It wasn't amazing, but it was very good. Wi-fi is available in reception but I couldn't get it to work in the room. The room was small, but clean and modern. I think the room size was typical for Japan, so this is not a criticism. All in all, a great place to stay and I would happily stay here again.

Ms NorthernLizzie,

Thank you very much for taking your time to comment on your recent stay with us.

We are thankful of your wonderful comments and I will pass this on to my colleagues for inspiration for even better service in the future.
As for the wi-fi in the rooms, unfortunately, we have not arranged them in the rooms yet. However, we are planning to prepare them in the rooms in addition to the lobby area.

Thank you once more for your comments.
We look forward to your return!

“Good value in great location”

Love the hotel's location in the heart of Shinjuku. Just a 5 or 8 minute walk to JR Shinjuku station. Loads of restaurants nearby including your Burger King and KFC. Rooms are on the small side but still quite reasonable for Tokyo. Very modern design and good front desk staff.

Free internet is available in the rooms but ONLY by LAN connection which is useless for smart phones. You can access free wi-fi in the lobby though. Only a SINGLE english TV channel and that was CNN.... PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEST WESTERN!! You have many non-Japanese guests, so why not cater for them on the Television.

Overall a pleasant stay for the price.

“Cheap clean and great location, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We had a double room, which was small but considering, including breakfast i paid $150 per night it was excellent value. It's right near some great department stores and 220m from the train station. The red light district didn't bother us. The rooms were clean and recently renovated. Breakfast was good considering it was 'included' but don't pay extra for it, it's not amazing. I also wouldn't get a smaller room. We really enjoyed our stay.
