This hotel is like a boutique property (only 11 floors and with a quiet and discrete lobby) and it is definitely a value for money option for anyone visitingTokyo. I have lived in Tokyo before and have travelled there over a number of years and I don't thnk you could do better in this category, particularly if you want to avoid the bus tours, mass market hotel experience. The hotel is very conveniently located to central Tokyo. Roppongi is an easy walk, and joggers can reach the Imperial Palace circuit very easily. Room size is the biggest plus for the hotel itself - the rooms are like studio apartments with kitchenettes (in fact the property used to be an apartment building before conversion to its current all suites format). Everything works and is well maintained and in-room amenities are generously supplied and replenished by a very efficient housekeeping service. The location is very convenient to Tokyo station, which is only a 10 minute, Y1,400 taxi ride away or you can take the subway. Akasaka Station is closest. Taxis pass by regualry making booking cabs for appointments unnecessary. There are 24 hr convenience stores and 2 x 24 hr supermarkets at hand, not to mention a plethora of little eateries in the same and adjacent streets. The hotel itself has its own restaurant, Pippo's, which serves up authentic Italian cuisine of a very high standard for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is also available at a cost of only Y1,300 (or Y1,000 if you a a member of the hotel's loyalty program). The Front Desk staff are very obliging and will handle document printing, faxing etc. Internet acces is included in the room rate and you can even hire a computer if you don't bring your own. The staff are all eager to do whatever they can to make your visit comfortable (expect varying levels of English capability but consistently high levels of eagerness to help). I think families with young kids would also find this hotel very appealing given the size of the rooms and that DVD players can be rented to provide entertainment.
