Other reviews have said this hotel is a bit hard to find and it is true - when you come out of Akasaka station at Exit 2 there is a busy street and no sign of a hotel. Don't panic - turn sharp left into a pedestrian walkway and you will find the hotel (there is also a sign on the wall if you look hard!). We arrived at midday after an overnight flight from UK only to be told our room would not be available till check-in time of 3pm, or we could pay 4500yen for early check-in! Having done battle with the Skyliner Express from Narita and then the metro to Akasaka we were exhausted and needed to sleep - finally we negotiated a room at no additional cost and were very happy to lie down.
The size of room and bathroom lived up to expectations from earlier reviews and we were very happy with it. We had a balcony room, but it only looked out at roof tops and pipes - the windows are frosted glass, so don't expect a view!
The hotel itself is a business hotel and does not really cater for tourists although the staff all speak English. If you need tourist brochures and help with booking tours this is not the place to stay. If you are self sufficient and have the Lonely Planet Guide, then this is an excellent base to stay while you are in Tokyo. There are 2 metro stations in easy walking distance, plenty of convenience stores to buy breakfast supplies, and restaurants of all types and flavours everywhere around the hotel in all directions.
Having been a bit daunted at first, in the end we loved staying at this hotel and would recommend it for self-sufficient travellers.
