I chose this hotel because it is strategically located within walking distance of several key Tokyo features. Arriving by train it is a short walk from Tokyo Station. The distance is so short it is not worth the cab ride unless burdened with heavy bags or its raining. From the hotel it is only one block to Hibiya Park which takes you to the Imperial Palace so in terms of a run or walk around the Palace it was perfectly positioned. I also chose this hotel because it has excellent gym facilities (although you have to pay to use them), however the opportunity to do a lap of the palace every morning was too good to pass up and I never used the gym. The hotel is a very short walk to Ginza and all of the shops, malls, restaurants etc. There are good metro connections from right outside the hotel. There was no free wifi unless you are on the premium floor in which case they give you a wireless router to use in the room – which seems like a good system. I had a hard time connecting my iphone to the router and only got it working on one day of my three day stay. The bar on the 21st floor has a stunning view of the city and it is well worth the overpriced beers to experience the lights of Tokyo at night. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The hotel interior has an ornate old-world feel as opposed to a more modern look. The room was large and well set up. I did not mind the rather old fashioned décor as it was clean and functional. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
