“Wonderful view, quality accommodation and best service ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The hotel has one of the most beautiful views of Tokyo, esp. the room we have chosen over the web site of the hotel was precisely what we wanted to be. My first rating is based upon the xxx of the hotel, the second is for the high-quality feeling that surrounds you all over the hotel, last but not least one is for the most polite, helpful and qualified staff that can help you for any issue for hours. The only set-back of the hotel is that they don't provide free wi-fi, as we all know, many well-known hotel neither.
You can easily use public transportation over the Daimon station and Hamamatsucho. It is close to the Haneda Airport, but very far and time consuming to get from Narita airport. Local residents,at least the ones we came accross, don't know about which hotel is where. So be prepared for taking a cab, which you might find hard at first glance. The hotel is located 2-3 subway stops from Ginza, 5-6 stops from Asakusa and 5-6 stops from Roppongi (transferred to Hibiya line from Ginza station)

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms with king size bed at the corners have best view for the Rainbow Bridge

“Great location, excellent views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This hotel is in a great location. It opens onto Takeshiba station which will get you over Rainbow Bridge to Odaiba, and can connect you to the metro. Just as easy is to walk 10mins to Hamamatsucho, which is on the Yamanote line but also connects to Daimon station, which s on the Oedo line. This corner of Tokyo is pleasantly quiet but still has great access. The views are stunning - pay a little extra to get an even better view and you won't regret it.

The decor in the rooms is maybe a little dated but rooms are large and well equipped, as you would expect from an Intercontinental.

“Good Hotel Near Haneda Airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Hotel is located in a quite corner of Tokyo next to the Takeshiba Pier right at the edge of Tokyo Bay. Some rooms have direct views of the Rainbow Bridge.
15 minutes walk to the Hamatsucho Station which connects to the JR Yamanote Line and Monorail to Haneda Airport.
One of the older InterCons but nevertheless, public areas and rooms are well maintained. Breakfast spread is good and perfectly adequate.
Will stay again.

“Typical Intercontinental in a secluded part of Tokyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

First the basics... my ratings are based on comparing this hotel to others in the same high caliber. This is a typical high quality Intercontinental Hotel. The staff is super professional and polite, the rooms are impeccable.

What makes this hotel strategic AND fun is its location in Tokyo. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is a critical decision when traveling to Tokyo.

This hotel is right on the water and out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the city. It is also a great location if you have business both in Tokyo and Yokohama. When I travel to Tokyo I plan my hotel stays based on where I have to go. You can waste a LOT of time in Tokyo-Yokohama just traveling on the subways and trains. Make this a critical selection factor when deciding where to stay in Tokyo.
It´s a ten minute walk from the Hamamatsucho Japan Rail station. If you have to go to the Ginza area, just take the Yurikamome elevated train from Takeshiba station which you can reach without even going down to the street level. There's a path straight from the hotel to the station. SUPER convenient!
Another important factor... you can take the monorail to/from Hamamatsucho from/to Haneda. From now on, I will try my best to take trans-Pacific flights into Haneda. It is SO much more convenient than traveling via Narita.
However, if you have to travel via Narita, then take the train from Narita to Shimbashi station and then the Yurikamome to the hotel (Takeshiba station). You can also take the Orange Limousine buses to the hotel, however, here´s the catch... this is the last hotel on the bus route from Narita, and the first on the way to Narita, therefore you´ll have a long ride within the city before you get to the hotel.
I will return to this hotel and would recommend to a friend if it makes sense from a location perspective.

Room Tip: I really liked the location of room 1422. It faced the city

“Superb Hotel and view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

We checked in at the Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo Bay, right from check in, it was a wonderful
experience, the staff were very polite, always willing to help, they had transport available from
early morning until late at night, to and from the subway station, but the only major problem
was the internet, thier charges were exceptionally high, whereas the Ana crowne plaza in Osaka had free wifi, really super fast. We did not eat in any of the restaurants,as we use to leave early, and come back late on the last Bus, they did have free internet access at the
business centre, they had two desktops there which were really outdated and one of the two was out of service. All in all it was a good stay, and we took the bus service forr 3000 yen straight to the airport.

Room Tip: Take a room facing the Tokyo Bay.
