If your intention is to stay somewhere extra convenient with the additional picture perfect cherry blossom viewing on your door step, look no further than Yaesu Terminal Hotel - Tokyo.
Literally 3 minutes away (walking) from the Tokyo train station (exit from Yaesu North), you'll find this business hotel with modern decor. It boasts small (just like any other hotel rooms in Japan) yet clean and comfortable rooms. The staff speak basic english and very friendly. Free internet with speed 3MB/sec, you just need to ask for a cable at the front desk.
The room as i've said earlier; is small (we've just managed to stacked our 2 big suitcases in the corner) but equipped with mini fridge, TV, kettle, hairdryer, robes, slippers, oh... and the ultra compact toilet/shower cubicle (any bigger than 5'2" and you'll be struggling to move around in there). The bed is comfy-ish. They clean the room, change the towels and supply you with new dental kits everyday - so guess what? we have stacks of them by the end of our stay yayyy...
Vending machines are located on the same floor as the reception, as well as a fancy restaurant where you can dine in and marvel at cherry blossom trees - just simply breathtaking!
Outside, the street is lined with cherry blossom trees (there're in full bloom when we're visiting first week of april 2010). it also lined with endless breakfast bars, restaurants, cafes (including 1 Starbucks cafe), 24hr convenient stores. Around the corners you'll find more restaurants, bars, karaoke places and an irish bar! - Really... what more do you want?
On the weekend, no vehicles allowed on the street, so people can enjoy picnic under the cherry trees (it's a japanese thing), they have stall selling foods and setup a stage for performances.
Want something fancy? Heads down to Tokyo Train Station, you'll find not only train tracks but also 13 floors of Daimaru department stores (shoes... *drooling*), ramen and other restaurants, 2 floors in the basement filled with sweets, gifts ideas, fruits (the prices will make your jaw dropped) and fresh food/bento ready to eat stalls - food... glorious food. Love it, love it, love it!!!!
It's a walking distance to Ginza and if you happen to book tours via HIS Experience, your nearest pick up hotel is Yaesu Fujiya Hotel which is 10 mins walking (toward Ginza) parallel to the Tokyo train station (or Yaesu South Exit from the train station)
