“Very convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

On a quiet street walking distance from Tokyo train station. It's mainly a hotel for laying your head down I would say, the rooms are a little small and could do with repaint but the hotel has a bit of character and a sweet location that carrys it. Also very clean and apart from a few wall scratches and the like the rooms and general layout is very nice. Very good Lawson opposite for picking up bits and pieces (it's some kind of swish Tokyo version with loads of toasted cheese sandwiches and ale, I almost wept, I don't get out of rural Japan much).

Not sure about breakfast but I was up and out early. Pricewise, it's surprisingly good for the location and the decor.

Room Tip: Very quiet area, anywhere should be okay.

“Depends on which type of room you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Good location, near to Tokyo Station (15 min walk) and with a Metro Station a few meters/yards away. A Lawson, a Family Mart, cafes, restaurants, just around the corner. And Ginza Street a 5 minute walk.
The staff is very polite (as usual in Japan) and can communicate in English.
We noticed that about half of the Hotel was refurbished, but unfortunately we got an older room. Not comfortable and because of the earthquake (or so they said) they were keeping the room hotter than usual. We couldn't sleep during the first night (28 Celsius inside, 3 Celsius outside!). After our request to lower the temperature, they said they couldn't but could send someone to open the window and keep it that way. Since this was a quiet street, this fit the bill. We could now control room temperature using curtains and window.

I guess the new rooms are a lot better.

The lobby is very poor and uncomfortable if you have to wait for someone for more than a few minutes.
In short: if you get a good price, and stays out of the hotel most of the time, the friendliness of staff makes you stay bearable

Room Tip: Ask for one of the new rooms

“small but clean and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

If looking for a clean and reasonable hotel in Ginza/Tsukiji area, this hotel is a good choice.

The room is rather small with little view, but nicely decorated with dark wood floor.
Big plus for a real hair dryer (not the one attached to the wall), a febreze bottle, and an air purifier/humidifier.

Location is perfect, within walking distance both to Ginza shopping district and Tsukiji fish market.
There are two convenience stores just across the street.

Breakfast is standard buffet style.
A bit disappointing if you only choose western food but Japanese food menu is decent.

“Great location, ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Stayed here for three nights understanding that we were paying for location. That said, we found the front desk oddly unable to help with basic directions or recommendations. While they eventually were able to assist, we felt like we were the first people to ever ask questions like "can you suggest a good shabu shabu restaurant", or "how do we take the river cruise". Most annoying was the air conditioning. Don't bother with the controls in the room. The air conditioning (or lack there of) is controlled at the front desk. If your room is too hot or too cold, you have to call down to have them adjust. This is not explained at check-in.
