“The best hotel stay we've ever had.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

The hotel is centrally located in Ginza, our favorite location to stay when in Tokyo, and the rooms we stayed in were large by Tokyo standards. But what made our stay here special was the truly exceptional service. The staff was friendly and super-attentive, without being overbearing, and they strove to accommodate our every request. I have never experienced this level of service at another hotel, even in Japan where customer service is generally superior. This is the only hotel we plan to stay at when we come to Tokyo again.

“Superb service”

Located a few steps from the Ginza, the service at this hotel has been very helpful and unfailingly polite. The room has a flat screen TV, a des with 2 chairs, and an easy chair, a very comfortable bed, great shower and separate tub with very nice amenities....shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving foam, shoe polish. The room is comfortable and serene.

You find many restaurants in department stores on designated floors and office buildings. Some menus have an English translation.

Dining can be very expenisve for just the simplest meals. One cup of soup, one green salad, 2 small portions of pasta, and 2- 4 oz. glasses of wine $130 (hotel restaurant). At La Birreria Rosticceria that is located in the Velvia building on the 7th floor, we had appetizers (8 pieces) that we shared, a half rotisserie chicken that we also shared, and a bottle of wine for $90. The Velvia building is just a short walk from the hotel.

Very comfortable accomodations steps away from the Ginza and metro stations.

We do have a slight view of the street below.

“Quiet amidst the turmoil of the Ginza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Personal attention and isolation from the surrounding turmoil are the key features of this remarkable property. The staff makes its guests feel welcome, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the restaurants are excellent.

“a bit outdated but quiet hide place in Ginza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

Despite its prime location, the hotel lacks magnificent views which you might get from Peninsula or Imperial's Tower floors due to architectural height regulations of Ginza district, but for those of you looking for the ultimate convenience of access to Ginza main street, this is the place.
The main entrance is set back half block from the street, and also the presence of doormen, helps the walk-ins away and keeps the hotel very quiet all day - making it a nice hide place for your personal short stay.

However upon our arrival the hotel receptionists were whispering, and sloppy (took time to confirm reservation and also forgot to explain about meal coupons), so they lacked the traditional Japanese welcoming hospitality which we expected by reading past reviews.

We stayed in the Sakura Suite - which was roomy for a Japanese hotel, but had no wifi (only ethernet via cable connection : JPY1,575 per day), no iPod mountable radio in the room (CD/MD only), and no cable TVs (only local Japanese channels, no BBS, CNN nor ESPN), and there was no ottoman to use when you're seating the sofa and watching TV - so it's very difficult to justify the rack rate of JPY80,000.

My wife and I stayed in this suite for a night - a discounted JPY48,000 package deal including 5 course French dinner for 2 at the hotel's main restaurant "Repertoire" and also in-room dining Japanese breakfasts for 2.
This package eventually proved to be an excellent deal, solely because of the dinner. We must admit the restaurant was excellent, fresh and creative translation of traditional French dinner into modern fine fusion, and it instantly became one of our favorite dine places in Ginza.

These special dinner & room plans often appears on Japanese hotel reservation websites such as Ikyu, so it is recommended for any seasoned Japan traveler to plan ahead and check the package deals before you book. But if you are business traveler looking for a modern & efficient equipped room, there are lots of other options.

Room Tip: don't expect great views, but go find package deals including the dinner at

“Great Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2011

They do make you feel like a king. Right from the valet to check in, you are taken care off. A small boutique hotel with super sized rooms and right in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo's priciest district. The staff are exemplary. The concierge is intelligent and interesting. I will go back again.
