“Best value for Tokyo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

The first thing I would like to say, this hotel still is serving most of the Japanese guests, and not popular by international.
I'm quite sure, they are ready for it !
Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and very well decorated rooms, safe area of town.
I've stayed in 4 different hotels in Japan, and this hotel was with the best value.
I strongly agree with positive comments in here, and thanks to trip advisor we made a very local choice for an International tourist.

“A fantastic experience, decent hotel!”

We found Tokyo Green Palace on hotels.com at a discounted price and, according to positive reviews and photos, we decided to go for it.

What a good decision we made! Everything was worth it! The hotel seemed brand new and extremely clean, the room was spacious, clean and not smelly at all, (although it was a smoking room while we reserved for a non-smoking one) A/C was impeccable, the TV was a 42" Sharp lcd tv, a good experience but few international channels only. We booked for a twin room but the beds were almost double beds each and extremely comfy. The toilet was a great TOTO and the bathroom was very clean, with all the amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, razor, toothbrush, sleepers etc.. provided. The room service worked very well and the room was like brand new everytime it was cleaned...
The staff knew a bit english but was very very helpful, and smiling all the time, which gave us each morning positive energy while starting the day... The only disappointing thing was breakfast, too expansive for almost nothing western, so if you're not used to japanese breakfast, forget about it...
The location of the hotel is in a quiet residential area, 2 minutes to Kojimachi metro station, 3-4 minutes to Hanzomon station and no more than 5 minutes to Ichigaya station, so the subway network coverage was excellent all around the hotel. A seven eleven and a lawson, both convenience stores, were really close to the hotel so you don't have any problem for drink and eat supplies.

To sum up, we had a really great experience at Tokyo Green Palace, a hotel well known by Japanese tourists but not yet by international travellers, who are missing a lot, to not discover this hotel. I recommend 100%.

“Convenient!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2011

Very convenient location right around the corner from Kojimachi station exit. If you do have trouble finding it, just check the maps in the subway and it will show you the way. Perfect if you're carrying around extra luggage like snowboard bags. 7/11 is on the corner as well as an indian restaurant. I'm not sure about the other reviews saying the hotel sign isn't in english, it is and the staff at the front desk can speak english.

The rooms are small but this is standard in Japan and proportional to the price I paid. Free wireless for PC users however with a MAC all you need is to plug directly into the LAN (free also). Rooms were very clean and cleaned daily.

We tried the breakfast on our first morning (extra) and I wasn't the best I've had. With the breakfast buffet, it has a great selection of Japanese and western food however I was unsure what to do with the Japanese food (trying to work out the 'set' combo with salad, soup etc) and the western food doesn't quite taste the same. It was better to head out and try local food from proper Japanese restaurants. Cheaper as well.

I would definitely stay at the Green Palace again!

“Small, but perfectly formed rooms in a convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

Everything you would want in a hotel room, despite the small dimensions. A particular plus was the good sized and comfortable bed, unlike the ones in many UK single rooms. Do follow other reviewers comments regarding Kojimachi station. It is right by the hotel, so makes it easier to find and also means it is ideally located for a short stay in Tokyo. A quiet location, but easy access to central Tokyo. Polite and helpful reception staff with sufficient English.

“Comfortable in tokyo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

I stayed at the Tokyo green palace hotel for 5 nights in July as apart of a trip around japan. The hotel is located in kojimachi and is a convenient 2 minute walk from the kojimachi subway station. I got a great rate on this hotel as I booked it as apart of a package deal with my flight and I was overall very happy with my stay here. My single room was expectedly small but not cramped and the room itself was modern with a large flat screen television and self catering facilities (kettle, fridge etc...). The room was spotless and cleaned daily with fresh amenities brought. The location is very convenient as you can get to places like shinjuku and shibuya inside 15 minutes by the subway. The cheapest way to get to the hotel from narita airport is to take the keisei limited express train from narita to yawata station for 840y. Then transfer to the moto yawata subway line and go to Ichihara and transfer from Ichigaya to kojimachi on the yellow colour coded subway line this will cost in total 1270y and will take about an hour and a half. There are several restaurants and a 7/11 nearby and the area much like the rest of Tokyo, is very safe. The staff were friendly and spoke some English and there are drink and ice cream vending machines located on different floors of the hotel including in the lobby. Overall if you are looking for a convienient and comfortable location from which to explore Tokyo then I would fully recommend this hotel.
