i booked through agoda. hadn't heard of this hotel before but was pleasantly surprised. the rooms are about the same size as you get in a japanese business hotel, but the rooms have been redone very well. the furnishings are very comfortable. it is very quiet, no disturbance at all at any time.

convenience stores and restaurants are close by. this place is going to be not very convenient for the first-time traveller to tokyo as it is not next to a landmark. the location is central though. short walk to ichigaya jr. spring/autumn would be a great time to be here because of the nearby shrines and short walk to the imperial palace area.

the staff could be more friendly. didn't try dining.

We only stayed one night here so its hard to give a full review, but we had a very good experience. The room was clean, stylish and comfortable. There were lots of convenient touches, such as a phone charger! The location was very convenient and not too far from a few subway stations and a train station. The only downside was that our room was near the elevator so we could hear lots of talking in the morning, so if I had stayed longer I would ask to be moved to a room further away. I would definitely go back.

After staying at the green palace, we decided there wasn't another area that we would rather stay in. It was nice to be out of the hustle of the busy areas of Tokyo, but also very central and easy to get around. We even walked to imperial palace.

Room was very nice. We got a twin for the extra space, which was a nice size.

Would surely come back again.

I stayed here for 5 nights on a previous trip (very pleased that time) and decided to stay here again on a subsequent trip for another 5 nights.

I am a solo traveller (65 years of age) and know my way around Tokyo. Prior to my hotel check in, I had flown non-stop from Toronto to Narita, taken the train from the airport into Ueno train station, taken 2 subways across Tokyo (long way around due to a train accident) and dragged my luggage up and down numerous subway station steps. It was a brutally hot and humid day and I was drenched in sweat and by the time I arrived at the hotel, all I wanted was a nice shower.

I arrived 50 minutes prior to the published check-in time and the desk clerk said no rooms (in the entire hotel) were ready and I would have to wait 50 minutes. I asked him if that was when all of their rooms magically became available. He then said "It is the law in Japan". I have stayed all over Japan on six previous trips and have never had a problem in checking in early on occasion. There is no such law. What really got to me was he wouldn't even offer to check with housekeeping to see if any rooms were ready until I asked to speak to his Manager. My reservation was for 5 nights so I think he could have been just a little more accomodating and cordial. Mr. Attitude needs to find a different vocation. This is a good hotel but I have mixed feelings about staying here again.
