We were a family of three adults staying in between Christmas and New Years 2011
The hotel taxi ride from Tokyo Station (we commuted via NEX from Narita Airport) - from memory about 1400 Yen. Suprisingly had no issues communicating to the Taxi Driver our destination, perhaps as there are only a few hotels in the area.
We stayed in a triple room (if you look the pictures you will see a set up just like we had) which was very very cosy for three adults, but more-than-comfortable for us to crash in at night. If you wanted a more spacious room they were offering upgrades for 2000Yen per night at Reception on check in.
Room was clean, bed was a bit firm and pillows were a bit odd (sort of bean filled or something like that?) but not wholly uncomfortable. Everything was compact, but with some clever manouvering we were able to fit our three suitcases, plus hang our various coats (even my brother’s ski gear to dry) in the bathroom.
Only one english channel from memory (BBC). There are vending machines available on every floor (alcoholic drinks on odd floors, non-alcoholic on even floors) and an ice machine and trouser press.
We were able to access wifi from our room - but unsure if this is available on all levels (we were on level 3 I think). They also provided a cable to access wired internet.
There are several food options along the main road, if you walk in the direction of the imperial palace you will find anything from zakaya/local bars, to chinese-style restaurants, simple udon or gyudon options, as well as a Doutor Coffee Shop and Choco Cro Café (both of which are perfect for a coffee and pastry for breakfast). There are also several Family Mart convenience stores down the road as well, great for picking up snacks and drinks and any little last minute necessities.
Location of the hotel was relatively central, we got to all of the major sites with a maximum of one transfer on all our trips. The subway station is literally across the road, which was fantastic! But for the price it was totally worth a little extra travel time in between places, and the peace and quiet of the area was a bonus.
Thoroughly recommend this place if you are after value for money, cleanliness and comfort.
