“Good Hotel in Akihabara”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

I spent one night here, it was my last night in Japan and I wanted to check out Akihabara (the anime shops). The hotel is about a 1 minute walk from the JR station, a very good location. The subway is also close by. The main parts of Akiba (the anime shops and the Crossfield building) are about a 5 minute walk.

The room was small by Western standards but normal size for Japan. The room was basic but had everything I needed. The bed was good and I slept well, with no noise. There was no view at all (I was on the 9th floor), but I didn't care because I wasn't there that long.

The breakfast had a nice assortment of Japanese and Western selections.

If you want to do a lot of exploring in Akihabara this is an excellent choice. If you want to spend a few days in Tokyo doing general sightseeing, I would recommend another area, such as Shinjuku or Ginza.

“Good choice for this part of the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Although it is a Japanese business hotel it is quite suitable for international visitors.

For short stays this is an excellent hotel. In Tokyo space is at a premium and so the rooms are small but ergonomically well designed, and priced well below the international hotel chains.

The hotel is brand new. The previous Washington hotel that occupied the site was torn down and this one built in 2010 new from the ground up. They eliminated the convenience store in the basement which is a miss and that space is now occupied by docomo store.

Adjacent to reception which is on the 3rd floor there is a small business center and a coffee shop. And there is a Denys restaurant one floor below. I can’t comment on either since there are so many choices steps away

Although the room is only 15m2 the bed is 140cm wide. There is no closet in the room but it has small bars with coat hangers to hang clothes or a garment bag. The bathroom has a ¾ tub with shower and although tiny quite adequate. It has a TOTO TCF530B toilet so if you study Japanese toilets you will know this is a full featured model.

All the rooms had free internet and cable was provided but they do not have any wireless service.

You pay the full amount of your stay when checking in. The advertised price is net ( includes all service and tax )

The TV in the room seemed to only have Japanese channels. If you want to watch a movie you have to go to the elevator area on your floor and purchase from the vending machine an access code. They also have a vending machine which dispenses beer and soft drinks. Portable electric trouser presses are also available for you to take back to your room.

The room "key" is a proximity card and to use the elevator just show the reader the card and it selects your floor for you. The key card need to be homed at the entry way to keep power and lights on.

Almost directly across the road is the REMM hotel which is also new similar in scope and cost a, but a little more sheik or modern in the design and interior furnishings. If you want to stay in this part of the city either is a good choice.

“Nice hotel in the center of Akihabara Electric City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in our family trip in Tokyo.

The hotel located in the heart of Akihabara. Only 1 minutes on foot to the nearest train station & akihabara center.

The room is very clean. A standard small japanese hotel room. Queen size bed room and a bath room with bath tub and nice water closet.

Overall, it is quite worth it for about USD 150 per night in the center of Akihabara Electric City.

“Great hotel for a night or two”

Let's say this up front - this is Tokyo. Most hotel rooms are small.
And yes, these rooms are small, but they have made the best of the space they have. Although there are no wardrobes, there are hooks on the wall with hangers, and a bottle of febreeze to refresh your clothes (nice touch!).
Although the bed is against the wall (I wouldn't want to have to share it!), it was very, very comfortable.
Although there is nowhere to put a suitcase, they've managed to squeeze in a good size desk. And the bathroom is surprisingly large!
The breakfast is also good, and the location is absolutely superb - so close to the station which is fantastic when you're arriving in the evening, are jet lagged, and don't really know where you're going!
Overall I was impressed, but not having anywhere to put a suitcase was a bit of a pain.

“Affordable. Nice. Clean. Great location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

We were looking for an affordable place to stay since we wanted to extend our stay in Tokyo beyond my business trip. The rates seemed too good to be true but we decided to book our rooms based on what we could see online. Granted, the room is TINY but this is Tokyo....what are you doing in your room! The hotel is clean and very nice. The decor is a bit "Ikea-ish" and the whole place feels small but it works! The location is brilliant, right next to the Akihabara Train Station. Perfect for anyone on a budget or just looking to not spend a fortune on a hotel room. Small but comforatble and nice and affordable...perfect.
