One of the most insecure hotels I have every stayed in! Despite having the door locked and bolted was woken up at 5am to find a thief in my room going through my stuff. Chased him out of the room and down the corridor but he got away. went back into the room to find all my money stolen. When I contacted the manager he first denied that a thief can get into the room. Police were called but of no help either.

Be warned this hotel is NOT SAFE

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening after a long flight; we were made to feel very welcome and very efficiently shown to our room,which was was warm and comfortable. We spent 7 nights there and found it very conveniently positioned to sight see around Tokyo. Our only ( slight) criticism is that the mattress and pillows are quite hard. The room was a reasonable size with three single beds in it. I would recommend eating breakfast at one of the many cafes near by.

This is the third time I've stayed at the Hotel Grand Palace over the last 4 years and I have enjoyed staying there each time. The staff is very friendly and many are proficient in English. The breakfast buffet is a nice mix of Japanese and Western foods. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is a bit older, but well maintained and very comfortable to stay at.
