This hotel is fantastic. I loved the room. Extremely well appointed room and they staff really do an awesome job maintaining it while you're there. Nothing but the best in terms of quality. Beds are super comfortable, electric controls for the curtain right on the master control panel on the nightstand, great night lights at each bed, curtains make the room pitch dark and the room is super sound proof to keep the big bustling city noise out. From the moment you arrive the staff is the most courteous you will find on the planet. They are very polite and they anticipate your needs whenever humanly possible. The hotel lobby is very beautiful with fresh flowers on display. Nice comfortable benches to sit on in the lobby while waiting for your friends to arrive from the next train. Very, very central location. The Imperial Palace is a short walk down and across the street. Ginza is right at your backdoor, simply go out the backdoor and turn right then head under the train tracks and you're there ! Incredible bars and izakayas and just everything that any Tokyo downtown employee could want to go to after work. Shinbashi Train Station is short walk away on the Yamanote Line (the train line that circles the greater Tokyo area.) Tokyo Station is not too far away either, a short walk with it's underground shops and services. Tsukiji is right down the street towards the Sumida River so you can either take a long walk or just cab it. Hibiya subway line runs underground only a short walk away also. So you can get to anywhere you want to go from the Imperial Hotel and if you're not sure just consult with the Concierge right next to the front desk. The very friendly ladies there will take care of you with instructions in English on how to get to where you need to go. The Front Desk also speaks English. I really loved the view of the park fronting the hotel. You don't even feel like you're in central Tokyo because the view faces towards the park with the Imperial Palace and it's very flat and empty park area fronting it towards the right as you look out of the hotel window.

We were fortunate to be new members of the hotel club and swam in the pool upstairs which was very nice. The bath area and the robes and the essentials are all there and what you would expect from such a high level hotel. It was amazing. I definitely want to stay there again the next time I am in town.

Downstairs in the basement there are shops. The bakery has amazing fresh breads and pastries that aren't inexpensive yet are very delicious. There is also a flower shop with some incredibly perfect orchids. The were so perfect the only way I knew they were real were because they were priced at $400. Other shops with various products are also there for your perusing.

The wake up call is amazing too. If when they call to alert you that it's time to wake and you sound like you might just go back to sleep they will take it upon themselves to call you again all without you asking.

If you send your laundry in for them to do and they notice you are missing a button they will attempt to replace it for you all at no charge and at no request.

They really do try to anticipate what your needs might be and try to fulfill them. The elevator gals (not always in there) are very polite and professional. When you exit the elevator you need to scan your card to get past the large automatic sliding doors that further secure your room from any strangers wandering into and ending up outside of your room. Of course you need to insert your room key to get into your room so the security is nice.

The bathroom is second to none and possibly the highlight of the room. Nothing but the Toto Brand all around. Toilet has all the bells and whistles you could dream of. The shower/bathtub are all Toto Brand and has a temperature gauge so you know exactly what temperture you are cooking yourself at. It's a wet bathroom so you can go crazy with the shower and get out of the tub soaking wet with no problem. Of course the hotel supplies you with even a plastic brush. Of course a toothbrush and the list goes on all wrapped in their individual paper wrappers with of course the hotel label. The towels and robes are thick,thick soft. Love that place. I could live there assuming I could afford it of course. Definitely one of the best hotels in Tokyo by far.

If you travel all the way to Tokyo then you must at least spend a night or two in this hotel. It will make your memories of Tokyo even better, for sure !

Love the views of the bustling city below. Vehicle traffic and people moving every hour of the day. Shop the Ginza area nearby. Walk to shopping malls and with thousands of pedestrians crossing at iconic crosswalks. Enjoy the glass walled restaurants facing quiet reflecting gardens.

Early ckeck in was not a problem and even got upgraded to a one bedroom suite in the tower.Very spacious suite and beautiful views over the Palace Garden.Despite being a bit outdated ,the Imperial is always a good choice for its perfect service, great restaurants, excellent breakfast and best location.

Superb location - a stone's throw from Ginza, the Imperial hotel is one of Tokyo's oldest and finest hotels. We never ate at the hotel, always strolled over to Ginza or one of the local eateries by the train tracks. The lovely Hibiya park is across the street for a morning jog. The Imperial is a pricey high-end hotel for a reason. Large rooms by any standard which means they are enormous compared to other Tokyo hotel rooms.
