We stayed here for one night and planned to stay for another two nights at the end of our trip. It was fine - smart reception, nice staff but oh so bland - could have been anywhere. Location is central but not particullary nice. Really not sure why it has got such good reviews. We cancelled the remaining two nights and stayed in the much more characterful, cheaper Hotel Les Monges Palace in the old town.

Arrived at Alicante airport and got a bus to Alicante Bus Station which is only 5 mins walk from Abba Centrum Hotel. Service, cleanliness all fantastic. Good size room. Good buffet breakfast. Maid service everyday. Bar serves light snacks. Good restaurant if you want an evening meal. Solarium with sunbeds on roof if you did not want the 20 min walk to the beach. Beach is great, beach and water clean. Supermarket opposite hotel is useful. Could walk from hotel to Castillo de Santa Barbara. This is the castle that sits on the hill overlooking Alicante. Apprx. 20 mins walk to base of the hill from the hotel. Unfortunately lift was not working so had to walk to the top. Took some time but not too bad. Found out too late that the open top tour bus also goes to the castle! Took a trip on bus to Elx (Elche) to visit Hort del Cura. These gardens are worth a visit. Elx is also a lovely city and Basilica de Santa Maria is worth a visit especially the view from the bell tower. Scary stairs but worth it. Tried various restaurants in Alicante along sea front and in the town. All ok but one does not stand out. Ate in Rosa restaurant off Castle Mayor in Santa Faz (a small square in Alicante town). Only found this on the last night but it was a lovely setting so would have returned if had the time. Would definately return to this hotel.

We stayed here last week as a one night layover on our way to Valencia, preferring a busy central hotel to a quiet resort one. It was easy to find (signed from the main airport road) and had secure parking which was essential for us (note that the car park is tight and requires a bit of negotiating with anything other than a small car).

The room and service (including room service dinner) were excellent, front desk staff were helpful and courteous even with my poor Spanish (which wasn't at all needed as they both spoke excellent English). Breakfast was pricey but very good quality and plentiful - the buffet being refreshed regularly. Overall the weekend rate of €120 for three inclusive of breakfast and parking was excellent value and I will look out for this chain again.

We were looking for a hotel that was walking distance from the beach, shopping area and the Old Town and its' restaurants. After much research, we chose the Abba Centrum and found it to be a great discovery.
Some of the reviews mentioned that its situation meant that you had to walk through some
slightly run down areas; we found that if you explore the area during the day,you could easily find alternative routes.
The hotel itself was everything they advertise and more......the staff were really helpful and friendly; the room was on the fourth floor,so although the view wasn't up to much,the room itself had everything we needed. The bathroom was very modern and boutique in style,the bedroom itself large and had plenty of storage space.It was worth paying extra for the "executive" room. The maids changed the bedding and cleaned every day.
Finally, the cafe con leche in the hotel bar/cafe was the best I had all holiday!
