This is a new hotel close to Valencia airport. It is next door to the Ibis and Express Holiday Inn and appeared to offer a bit more refinement and luxury, for not much more money. The check-in staff were pleasant, but incredibly slow - more training required. The room was high-quality - lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, reasonable sound insulation from road and air traffic. So far so good. We foolishly decided to eat in the hotel - no-one else did, so they obviously knew something we didn't. The meal was very expensive and really not worth it. I'm not sure what the chef had in mind making vegetable ice-cream and putting it on a salad, but it so didn't work. The main course was just about ok. The most off-putting thing though was the wine. We ordered a house red, which was taken out a cupboard and whipped onto our table with a flourish, but certainly without the time required to remove a cork. It was thin and rather unpleasant. As we were alone in the restaurant, my husband looked in the cupboard and discovered several open, but full bottles with corks pushed back in them. We had been given an old, opened bottle, perhaps even decanted from other people's leftovers. That is what it tasted like. I challenged the waiter and after some bluster he offered a new bottle as 'we hadn't like the first.' The freshly-opened bottle was fine. This possible scam left an unpleasant taste in our mouth in more ways than one, and all for 7 euros. Management need to pay close attention to this hotel.
