“Fabulous BUT!!!”

We were recommended to stay at this hotel as our first choice in Isoe was full. When we arrived the receptionist could not be more helpful the room was great and we were able to park our vehicle in the under ground parking area free of charge. We were persuaded by the restaurant chef to select half board as it would work out "better value for money" BUT we had to commit for all 3 nights. We do not usually do this as we like to eat in differenet places and not be tied to one restaurant if we do not know it. However we selected the half board this is where things went totally wrong. The chef lied to us as the menu does not show clearly that for some of the dishes there is a massive supplement , the chef told us that anything could be selected. With regard to the wine list, it is very misleading as the price per bottle in the front of the list does not show how big the bottle is they are in fact for 500cl the price for the 750cl bottle is hidden much further on in the list and only explained in Italian!!!! We both questioned this with the Restaurant manager and stated that this was misleading and she was then really rude to us and flew off her italian handle, within seconds the chef came out and was also very rude to us to such an extent that the shouting was upsetting other guests who were eatinhg there. We simply stated that the info provided was misleading and decided to change our minds from half board back to bed and breakfast so that we were not "tied" to the restaurant ( we then found out that the restaurant was not part of the hotel management and that it was run independently). The decision to do B&B only sent our chef and manageress into complete rage as they did not want to lose the business we flattly refused to change our minds and it was at this point that the manageress lost the plot completely and ordered us to leave the restaurant, this after we had had a very nice starter and wine etc.So we did and walked through to the hotel reception at this point we were again confronted with the manageress who abused us even more and then oredred us to leave the HOTEL so we did, at 9.30 at night we packed our bags and left for Brescia where we stayed at The Park hotel and we were provided with a suite and had a lovley night. In summary be very careful I can recommend the Hotel but stay well way from the restaurant, the chef and the restaurant manageress as she has dilutions of higher things that she cannot provide.

Room Tip: Do NOT agree to half board for this Hotel at any time Also there is a farm within 30 metres with noi...

“Small friendly hotel with great customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

My wife is coeliac and requires a gluten free diet, we advised the hotel in advance and they catered superbly, exceeding all of our expectations. We chose the half board option but in addition there was complimentary coffee, iced tea and cakes available to all guests throughout the day. All of the staff are very friendly and accomodating, there was always someone available who spoke good English and nothing was a trouble to them.

Our bedroom had a small balcony facing Monte Isola and the lake, which added to the experience. Whilst the room did not have modern air conditioning it did have a large ceiling fan which was very efficient and kept us cool in the height of season. Both the interior and exterior of the hotel are very well maintained and beautiful, the pool is small with sufficient sunbeds.

The hotel is easily accessible by car from the main A4 autostrada, using main A roads up to Iseo town and then a lakeside road on which the hotel is situated. It is located within a ten minute walk of the ferry to Monte Isola and a twenty minute car journey into Iseo town; as the lake is small you can easily drive around the perimeter in a day, taking time to stop at points of interest along the way.

“Friendly staff, nice environment”

Staff is very friendly and welcoming - the atmosphere is between a b&b and a hotel. There are sweets and coffee / tea in the lounge all day, there are free bikes to move to the island or whereever esle (professional bikes in good condition). But Sale Marasino is not really a lake resort :-) so there is not that much to do - the trip to the island is really worth it though. We booked for 160 € a room incl diner and breakfast for 2 persons and the deal was overall very good. Would certainly recommend.

“Great stay at lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2008

We stayed here whilst on a walking holiday and were very pleased with the hotel. We like staying at smaller properties that are unique & interesting and this fitted the bill nicely. We upgraded to a lake view room - but I don't think it was the same as other reviewers as ours only had a smallish window & we decided that the upgrade probably wasn't worth it. However, we were very happy with the room, all nicely decorated, clean etc.
We ate in the restaurant the first night which was very good if a bit expensive. The other night we wandered out to one of the local restaurants. Would definitely recommend it!

“Fantastic Hotel”

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the hotel.
There were 4 of us in our party ( 2 couples ) and none of us has a bad word for the hotel. Rooms overlooking the lake were large, clean and airey. Breakfast superb and relaxed. Staff extremely friendly, courteous and attentive. Fantastic swimming pool ideal for relaxing after a days walking.
Touches such as sweets on your pillows, all day tea/coffeee and cakes ( included at no extra cost ) made the experience so much better than staying in an International Corporate hotel.
Whiist there we would recommend a couple of days for exploring the island opposite. We also went on a guided historical tour (free) of the local town churches which is held every thursday morning.- this was excellent and an interpreter was even on hand.
In summary - if you get the chance stay here !!
