Stayed here for a friends birthday party. Very welcoming with huge log fires blazing in entrance. Friendly and helpful staff. Great room with huge bed! Very comfortable. Lovely breakfast served by happy and helpful staff. Lovely setting, this an easy hotel to recommend.

I recently visited Cave Castle Hotel on Saturday 7th January, to kill some time, on the way to a friends in Brough. I arrived into the impressive reception to ask where I could get a cup of coffee from, I was told by the receptionist there's a Bistro near the leisure club. No directions given. I eventually found The Courtyard, which isn't very well sign posted, but a hidden gem. The girl serving was really bubbly and welcoming and made me feel at home, making sure I had everything I needed. The place was very relaxing. The young girl was in high spirit even though, what i presume was a manager with an air of arrogance about him, kept coming down to ask her if she had been busy, customers shouldn't hear staff being spoken to like that, I'm sure. What a lovely little place. I will definitely be suggesting The Courtyard for our weekly coffee mornings. Fingers crossed we don't bump into that appalling manager.

Me and my partner had our wedding here. The whole day was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. The food was gorgeous couldn't fault it. Our bedroom was spacious. All of our guests loved every minute. Couldn't fault it.

We stayed for New Years Eve with some friends and had a superb time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - well worth it although not cheap but then when is anywhere cheap on new Year's eve. Stayed for a late breakfast the following morning which was served until noon so was very suitable after a late night. Never seen such a good choice for breakfast. A piper piped us into dinner [black tie although did not say so anywhere so fortunately had phoned the day before to check or else my hubby may have been embarased wearing something unsuitable] and also piped the hagis accross the dance floor and piped in the new year. Dancing, good food, good company and a good night was had by all - my best new year ever to date!
