Comfortable bed, beautifully decorated room, elegant furnishings, newly redcorated, excellent response to room service.

Atmospheric Chateau built into the limestone hills. We had a room in the main hotel, not a cave room, and it was very spacious with views over the Loire. Lovely bathroom and very clean. The highlight is the restaurant. Outstanding food and great wine list. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent position for exploring surrounding Chataeux, Amboise, Bois, Tours, Saumur etc. Only downside is the busy road in front but traffic is not heard in the rooms.

After a week of 'camping' in a very basic little farmhouse somewhere in the Centre region, we were very looking forward to some days of luxury in Hotel Hautes roches. The staff was very friendly and the location was good, although the very busy road to Tours was right in front of the hotel and blocked the way to the Loire river. But unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the standard of our 'cave room'. The decor desperately needed a make-over and the overall atmosphere was that of an (dare I say it) old peoples home. But the restaurant easily made up for the poor quality of the accommodation. The food was excellent and the wine divine. The staff in the restaurant was again very friendly and professional and the view of the river stunning. So all in all we had a pleasant stay at Hotel Hautes Roches despite our disappointing room. We would definitely return to dine at the restaurant but look for another hotel to spend the night.....

This was our special night at the end of a 3 week road trip around France. Oh what a night !!!! I spent an hour reading a book sitting in the window frame looking over the river with a wonderful glass of red. We had a gorgeous meal at the restaurant and a lovely night sleep in very comfy beds. Will definately return to our room under the cliff.
