“value for money, great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

all the rooms have spectacular view, which makes you wanna stay in for a drink on the balcony instead of going anywhere,
very big rooms, very clean, with big bathroom.
the staff were a bit "coarse", most of them did not speak greek (important to the greeks!)

but overall good value for what you pay, although one would think that the place could have greater potentials.

“Sacred island, the Sacred hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

I must admit I've read the reviews here before I chose this hotel for our stay in Greece. And I disagree with those negative ones, except the one about the food - I think that is the only "minus" of the hotel, as the food doesn't vary a lot and it is quite average, due to the fact that it is an island and they bring all the stuff from land (Xenia Hotel), probably that's also why. But they had great calamaris, better than in tavernas on the island :). And good breakfasts with good fruits, especially pineapples :)). Spa is also good, Solomi is a dream masseuse :)). Also special thanks goes to the guys and girls who works in the restaurant: RENA (!) :), Roberto, Claudio, in reception: KATERINA and Dimitris, and of course the poolbar barman Giorgos too :)). These people were very warm and friendly all the time! So no wonder it was a great time we had in this hotel. Also I would love to mention the beautiful island and a great beach of this hotel. The good fact is that it is not crowded but just SACRED as it is in the name of it, that's what I was looking for in this place and I found it! The rooms are amazing and very comfortable, the territory is big and very beautiful. A little minus is also that the hotel doesn't provide good bicycles and any kind of animation/evenings, but as for the last ones I think maybe it's a correct choice not to provide it as the hotel helps you to relax a lot and to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the island and your stay in this paradise. We also loved to walk on this island, the "Island" bar was great too, thanks to the people working there as well. We loved our vacation a lot! So try not to listen to surprisingly negative reviews about this hotel but make your own opinion about it next year. I think that if this hotel will improve just a bit in food, bicycles and etc. it could become one of the best hotels in the Athos part of Chalkidiki, because it is so special and once again SACRED! S'agapo!!!

From Russia with love :)).
Vlamis.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at this hotel for 14 nights in July 2011. We booked the hotel through a travel agency and paid for half board, including buffet dinner.
Our first dinner was indeed a shock. Instead of a buffet there was an a la carte menu that was horrendous, to say the least. Soup, entrée, main course, one salad (for two persons) and a piece of cake. The portions were miserably small, and even if they were substantial enough, all of these were completely inedible and tasted appallingly bad. On top of it all, it took the staff around an hour and a half to bring these to our table. Staff was totally unprofessional – not really knowing what their jobs entail them to do, making constant mistakes, and above all else, they were really rude.
After this disaster, we went to see to the manager and demanded the full refund for the dinner, since this was not what we paid for (we paid for a buffet dinner in a 4 star hotel, and got ‘something’ more suitable for a dinner in a really bad 2 star accommodation). Of course, in the beginning they did not want to give us our money back. They started to shift the whole blame on the travel agency, and finally refunded us with 12 classes on the tennis court and free use of safe box. The rest was eventually repaid by the agency.
Furthermore, the breakfast buffet was disastrously bad as well – poor quality of food, very limited choices, bread that stays frozen in the middle, it took around 15 to 20 minutes to get the coffee from the waiter, eggs that were almost completely rotten (since they were cooked God knows when) etc.
I do not honestly know how did this hotel pass any sanitary inspection, and moreover, how it’s been graded as a 4 star hotel. Our room wasn’t cleaned every day; they were not changing towels regularly, although we insisted that they do so (“they did not yet send them to be washed from the hotel across the road” – I do not honestly know how they can state this as an excuse to a guest) and so on.
Since there was an unbearable noise coming from the room above ours one night around 11 p.m., we complained to the receptionist; yet, he wouldn’t caution these people to be a bit quieter since they were the boss’s cousins. Only after angry warnings from my husband that he will do it himself in that case, the receptionist reluctantly agreed to ask them to be a bit less noisy.

“It's 2 star hotel”

We stayed 7 days there (24-31 July). The sheets changed only 1 time. There was in the crew people who did not speak greek. We paid for HB (4 people) and we had to eat 5 plates without any choice of food. I think that Agionisi resort it's a 2 star hotel.

“NOT A 4 STAR RESORT”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

We stayed in July 2011 for 7 nights 2 families with 2 kids each. The hotel definitely is not a 4 star hotel in terms of services. The dinner was AWFUL. The quality of the food very bad, there was NO selection of plate just 1 fixed menu every day. The service of the restaurant was mainly 18th years old kids doing their practise. In terms of the cleaning expect only the basic and we didn' see even the basic in the everyday bath service(bottles of sampoo, or towels, or soaps). The A/C was strunggling to operate in the 40 degrees temperature.
We complainted about the food and we changed the booking excluding the dinner from the price by eating outside the restaurant which was better and cheaper.
The 130 euro/night definitely was too much for the service.
