The Parador and the medieval village are well worth the visit. The Parador appears reasonably modern in construction, many of the rooms look out over the plain below. Our room had an excellent view, was a little larger than "normal", was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and more than met our needs.
The staff were very helpful and cheery - questions were handled with a smile.
The medieval village provides interesting walks and an insight into some of the history of Spanish royalty. It is not large and is relatively untouched by modern tourism which made for a pleasant change. This is not a village full of restaurants, bars and tourist shops - it is one that conveys a different pace of life.
We enjoyed sitting on the verandah of the Parador watching the sun set - magic. The dining room service and food quality was our only disappointment - but after many dinners in Paradors we had adjusted our expectations - acceptable food without delivering anything special. The food quality could be improved. Thank heavens for the breakfast buffet, which like many other Paradors is a better experience than dinner.
Overall, an enjoyable stay.
