Hotel itself was clean with a nice pool area reception staff helpful and friendly but thats were it ends.
We paid £100 extra for upgrade of room (was not worth it) Safe was broken.Shade on one of the lights was broken. Hospitality tray had thin plastic tea cup which melted when hot water was poured in. Milk was sour. Bath robes were so rough you could have scoured a pan with them. The sliding bathroom door had all the fittings in the door for catch, lock, ect but there were no fittings in the door frame whatsoever. Hence the bathroom door could not be closed properly. The bathroom was decent enough and so was the balcony but if this was one of the best rooms it sadly fell way way below par.
The food is not very good.
One night after we had been on a day trip we were slightly late for evening meal and were one o fthe last left in restaurant all the staff disappeared into the kitchen and we were left sitting there waiting for our dessert we decided to give up after 15 mins.
If its quiet and out of the way you are looking for, then this hotel is for you. There is a pleasant outside seating area and the bar area is quite modern but it was practically empty every night except for the poor bedraggled Mynah bird in the corner.
When we we were there, i would say peak season, come 10.30 the place was deserted.
Very little in the way of entertainment and there is no where to go outside of hotel unless you get the bus down the HILL! more like a mini mountain. Much better in Riva feel like your back in civilisation so probably worth tackling the hill, its just that after a days sight seeing a stroll outside of hotel is preferable to waiting around for buses. Never saw hotel bus while we were there and was not told about it, but running only once a day probably would not have been much use anyway .
Our last day in the hotel was like the final nail in the coffin. A large group of 40 to 50 people arrived .
In the evening in the restaurant we were completely surrounded and felt very uncomfortable. Had we known this beforehand we would not have booked this hotel and had it been early on into our holiday would have asked to be moved. The holiday company Thomson, whom we booked this holiday with advertise this hotel as 4* but believe me it is not.
Would certainly visit Lake Garda again it is a most beautiful picturesque area and apart from the hotel really enjoyed our stay. A trip to the dolomites is a must if your thinking of visiting this area.
Next time will do it properly and stay in hotel down by the lake. We live and learn!
Hope this has been of some help i am sure this hotel will suit some people just not for us.
