Our Perillo Tour group was booked at the Mar Hotel Alimuri. I am a most easy going individual, so when my wife and I showed the cigarette burns on the bed linen to the manager who then proceeded to simply drop onto the bed the linen he pulled off the bed in the next room before leaving, I would not allow his attitude to affect our trip. However, my disappointment grew when we discovered the shower did not work, and we were informed that a room change was not allowed by the hotel staff. So we took no shower. Since restaurants were not in walking distance from the hotel, we checked the hotel restaurant, and found it closed. The only restaurant available within walking distance was 30 yards away between the hotel and the ocean. A restaurant not owned by the hotel. So the hotel locks the surrounding fence they installed in order to force their "guests" to eat at the hotel restaurant - which they close early. The staff of this hotel would have their "guests" go hungry rather than eat at a "competitors" restaurant. Never have I witnessed such a mean spirited "hospitality" Our tour guide had to call back our tour bus to take us to a restaurant which meant dinner took 4 hours. Then we discovered the door in our room was broken and could not be locked, and still the staff was most indifferent. So I stayed awake all night so my wife could get a few hours sleep. In the morning I informed our tour guide I was finished with the entire tour because the experience with the staff of this hotel was so horrific. You couldn't pay me to stay at this hotel again.
