“Average freeway hotel, OK for business.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

The hotel appears a typical Accor hotel to me, everything is very basic, yet functional. The hotel is located near the industrial park in Val-De-Reuil, and it was my impression all the guests were business people visiting companies in the park. I too stayed 3 nights for a business meeting.

Room and bed were comfortable, there was an OK working desk and free (rate-limited) Internet. The room and toilet/shower were clean, and daily room-service did a good job. The climate-system is not central, and was a little noisy. Also it appeared under-dimensioned for keeping the room warm, especially I had to keep shoes on to keep feet warm (though, it was below 0C in Val-De-Reuil when I was visiting).

Reception was friendly and good in assisting with practical things (such as bus and train timings). The restaurant food was OK, but the menu very limited. Breakfast was also OK, but a bit overpriced at 13 EUR.

All in all not bad for business travel to Val-De-Reuil. For a tourist, the area is very boring, and only suitable for a quick over-night stay while passing on the free-way - there is nothing to see in Val-De-Reuil.

“Fine for one night - convenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

easy to reach from the motorway. Staff at reception and at breakfast were very pleasant. Hotel was clean but pretty spartan. I asked for a no-smoking room but there was a faint smell of smoke in my room and there were cigarette stains around the washbasin in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good value at Euro 13 with a good selection. Fine if staying for a night

“A room for the night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2009

I stayed for 3 nights and to be honest I was bored out of my mind. The rooms are clean and the bed is big. The room’s air con did not work properly so watch out for the traffic noise and you do not have a kettle and coffee in the room.
The hotels sound insulation is terrible, so watch out for the sounds of doors slamming and men peeing in the next room. Please God that you don’t get someone with a bad cough next door either
I used McDonalds and the Buffalo Steak House which is next door for food. Neither is very good.
Three nights was plenty enough for me, and next visit I will stay at Vernon.

“it is just ok...”

My review of the hotel Mercure at Val de Reuil can be summed up as: it is fine, as long as you are staying only one night as you pass through.

I arrived there in the evening, and it is set among the large McDonalds and sone sort of large chain steakhouse. It seems that they are there as stop off places from the near-by motorway. The hotel did not look too bad in the dark, but on leaving in the morning I realised it looks like a series of prefabricated pods stacked together. I wonder if it was actually built using pre-made pods.

The hotel is clean, recently painted and refreshed. But it is dated decor that has been freshened up. It is very much a value hotel, and the night cost around 80 euros. So it is very good value as the rooms are large, great desk to work, very adequate bathroom. The bed is large but the sheets feel cheap, but I had been spoilt as been staying in a Meridien Hotel (at much more) the rest of the week with their lovely bedding.

The rooms are a bit noisy but not enough to disturb as you can hear a bit of movement but it is not intrusive.

I did not eat in the hoitel, but workmates who had the breakfast said it was good and good value. There is a fairly large restaurant in the lobby area.

The staff were neither friendly nor not friendly. So consistent with the overall hotel experience.

I was not wild about the place, but it was great value, handy for our office where I was meeting and I was only there to sleep (getting in at 9pm and leaving at 745am) and so fine.

There are other hotels in the area that are priced about the same I believe with more character. So would probably try them next time and seem but for a value priced on night it is fine.

“old and dirty - needs renovation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2007

I stayed in the hotel because it's the best option as what the location is concerned if you have to be in the industrial zoning of Val-de-Reuil Incarville. I would definitely recommend staying in Rouen rather than Val de Reuil.

Service however is good in the hotel. The staff is really helpfull and friendly, but the hotel itself is old and dirty (some walls are even rotten -> see my pictures).

Rooms were cleaned well, but gave very dirty impression, especially the bathroom, as you can see on my pictures.

breakfast was nice.

Pool was under renovation.
